Just wondering how people would feel if a guy like Allegri come in ? He’s the big name replacement I personally would want to come in for Pochettino if he were to go, certainly not Eddie Howe or Brendan Rogers.
He’s a proven winner and a fantastic tactician. He’s currently available so a complete no brainier for me if we were to switch manager. Spurs are a huge pull at the moment for any manager coming in. Talented squad, CL regulars still, best stadium in Europe and unbelievable training facilities.
I personally feel we’re as good as done with Poch. I don’t think there’s anything he can do to save this mess and this has been a downward spiral for 6 months now, this isn’t nothing new here in regards to our appaling form.
Once you have lost the dressing room, which it doesn’t take Einstein to see he has, there’s almost no coming back from it. I’m a huge Poch fan, but it looks like he’s taken us as far as he can and we need a fresh new approach in the hotseat. I don’t think there’s a better manager available than Allegri right now.
Allegri , thoughts ?

Don, currently any manager would be better than Pochettino. I don`t think I have heard so many excuses from any manager ever.

Sadly Sad, I think this is one of your poorest comments😳

Will he be bringing a magic wand, because he`ll need one

I like the idea of Allegri.
Especially if he brings Dybala with him!
But the question is ....
would Allegri want the job?
It involves getting rid of at least 6 players and hiring top class replacements....
all under the auspices of Daniel Levy.
My guess is Levy would have to make some very strong commitments in the contract to attract Allegri, .... or any top manager.

MP can't win, if he drops the I want out players he's not exactly got much quality to fall back on, if we change manager do we think these I want out players are going to step up until they move on, I'm not so sure.

The squad needs rid of players who want to leave and/ or a shiiit and we need to replace with proper quality

Julian Naglesmann seems like an obvious choice but much will depend on how Bayern go this season, I believe he's highly thought of there. Based on the other night though they seem to be doing fine

My initial though was Nagelsmann. He fits our profile far more than Allegri. I'd rather pick up Timo Werner than Dybala because I think he'd make the transition to the Prem at lot quicker. Not sure that Julian would want to leave Leipzig though as they're bankrolled to the hilt unless has been mentioned Bayern come calling. Having said that any managerial appointment is a risk. He could just as well be AVB mark 2 as Poch mark 2.

We all know it’ll be Eddie Howe if the worst happens
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not good enough. We are bigger than Eddie Howe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were bigger than Poch before he joined
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were we? As I recall we were a 6th place Europa League team in a 36,000 seater stadium that never spent any money on players and had sacked every manager we’d had within a couple of years for the last 3 decades. We had designs on being a regular CL club with a big stadium, and we had our (overrated) history and fancy London status. Poch had just taken Southampton to 8th, their record PL position and 2 places below the mighty Spurs. He was young and ambitious, could work with young players on a budget. We weren’t too big for him at all - we were too small time for the big names, hence LvG spurning us for Man U. Poch was a good fit for us and us for him.
Allegri seems an obvious choice. But he’s been used to working on a big budget. He’s had it all his own way in the league meaning he can focus on the CL, but hasn’t got over the line there. Would he be a good fit?
Let’s just remind ourselves of our model before we start demanding the likes of Allegri or Mourinho. Spurs do not spend money on players. We sell players to buy other players, thus breaking even on player trading. Prior to this summer Poch had spent £29m net in 5 years - only Southampton had spent less. That is a pittance for any club with designs of challenging for top 4, never mind major honours. Regardless of how clever our accountants are, the stadium still has to be paid for, so this model will continue indefinitely. So, you need to think of managers that fit it; Howe, Ten Hag, Nagelsmann are a few names that spring to mind. Allegri, like Jose, doesn’t jump out at me as a Levy candidate.
Let’s also not forget that Levy’s track record for appointing managers is largely abysmal. Or, they have all failed because he hasn’t given them the support needed to meet the results demanded. Depends which way you look at it. He got lucky with Poch, who was 2nd or 3rd choice. Don’t go pinning your hopes on him pulling another rabbit out of the hat.

My point was, just because a Manager isn't a big name, it doesn't mean they can't be successful at a bigger club.
