No Ozil yet again...

He cannot be that shiiiiiiiiet that he can't even make the bench, even without there being another ACM in the side...

Can he?

Ozil grew too big for his boots a long, long time ago. That extension Arsenal gifted him was just crazy.

I can't blame Emery. If a player says to me "You are not a coach!" I will actually transfer-list him. Ozil shd just be happy he is pocketing such a huge wage. But his silly comments ruined his already fading Arsenal career.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well he wasn't lying. But look, if that's Emery's reaction, it shows how petty he is. I'm sorry but you have it out with the player, deal with it and move on... especially if you can't move Ozil on. This way, he (or the club) is wasting a £42.5million / £250k pw asset. This way, there is no way they'll recoup what they need from a sale. It's petty and stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's your view. Fortunately, you will never manage Arsenal and Emery's future at Arsenal is not decided by comments on 606. A player who insults a manager does not deserve to play under that manager and must look for another team with a "proper manager", but Ozil knows that no other club or manager is interested in him. This player-power nonsense does not exist at Arsenal, whatever the player's price-tag or wage. Ozil is very lucky Wenger gave him a ridiculous contract extension instead of showing him the exit door. I would rather watch Saka, Willock and Nelson every match than that lazy slob.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I'm not going to manage Arsenal... no-one here is unless Emry's got a log in. "Fortunately"? Ha! So petty!

The point isn't that Ozil should start but, even if you look at it from a purely financial perspective, Arsenal has an asset that is depreciating at a faster rate than if they stuck him on the bench and gave him a few minutes. It's not Emery's job to be a player's best friend; it's to win games. And so far, where he has, he's not done that convincingly which is due, in part, to him excluding the one attacking player we have. What team is going to look at an Ozil who isn't playing at all and will pay what we would invariably ask for for him? So if it's fortunate that I'm looking at this and thinking it's money being absolutely wasted, so be it.

Ozil's value has already hit rock bottom , we've been trying to flog him for two years and no clubs want him even on loan with us subsidising his wages! it's a case of when he doesn't play some fans forget how useless he is, much rather play all the youngsters and build a new team instead of giving token minutes to a player who's finished at this level.

Was he rubbish in the two games he's played this season. He has his flaws as well-documented but some fans turn that into him being useless when that's far from the case.

He was average in both games, didn't contribute much. I feel like he's hanging around the club like a bad smell now, yes he could play in Europa League and cups but if Emery treating him this way makes him think again about leaving then it's better for the club than his wages burning a hole in our budget for a bit part player.

Average isn't rock bottom but we'd be splitting hairs if we went down that road. We're in agreement that the best option is if he left. The problem, as far as I see it, is that a buying club will look at him not playing, getting rusty, moving further away from 30 in the wrong direction and will offer something the club won't accept. So we're stuck with an asset who won't leave and won't be played all the while the club pays £350k a week that could be better used on bringing in his replacement or fixing the skewed wage structure...

That financial self harm is what I think is petty.

He was playing last season and there was still no interest in him. That's what I meant by his value being rock bottom. I reckon we would let him go on a free transfer and pay some of his wages, but I can't see a buying club paying more than 100k a week, and we're not gonna subsidise 250k of his wages. The only way he leaves is if he agrees to take a pay cut so phasing him out might encourage him to do that.

Who's to say there wasn't interest? Maybe there was but an arrangement was an issue because of his wage. The club is making is more difficult by not playing him at all.

The lack of interest is linked to his wages though, clubs won't pay the huge salary for a player who's past it. I don't think it's a case of playing him or not playing him, the mistake has already been made when we extended his contract and we'll probably have to wait until it expires for him to leave. From Emery's comments it sounds as if he's not working hard enough in which case he's right to leave him out.

Maybe not. We got a taker for Mkhi and he is doing ok.
