Emery clearly doesn't rate Torreira. Also, Torreira has been pretty average now for a very long time

That's down to Emery though. Playing players in the wrong positions or in Xhaka's case playing him at all

Please give it a rest. He doesn’t rate Torreira yet you suggest a player who has appeared far less and in a completely different position should play there.

If not for the goal and assists I guarantee nobody would be calling for Chambers to start. He has had plenty of chances at Arsenal and won’t do anything with another one.

Torreira maybe out for that game. Emery said he has some problems. Would like to see Chambers in front of our defense

I watched in the last 2 games and have been impressed with what i saw, he has the hunger and passion which has been missing in some areas in the team.

I think giving him a try there and also at right back is good.

he seems a lot faster than he ever used to be at RB

Every single game Torreira plays in midfield convinces me that he's not a defensive midfielder. Never was in the first place.

His instincts are all wrong for the role. He is more of a high-energy box-to-box player.

His lack of positional discipline means that he will always desire to be wherever the ball is.

He is more likely to play a pass and then immediately bomb forward for the triangular pass, than allow the more creative players to do their thing. Funny enough, a large number of our counterattacks will find him inside the box as the most advanced player.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY, the lad doesn't tackle. He was averaging less than 1 tackle a game when I last checked. Our midfield is still as protective as a net curtain whenever he plays.

Can't really blame him. I just think he got pigeonholed into the wrong role.

This is true since he's been moved to the wrong position by Emery so Xhaka can occupy DM poorly. Now Torriera is relied upon to cover all the ground Xhaka doesn't as well as be our main creative force up top. It's never going to work regardless of who the player is.
