With mount in line got his first start tonight and a few more chelsea lads in the squad just how important can we be for the national side? Looking at our team I think alot depends on how Southgate sets up but working through the players
Tomori- lighting quick and only going to get better, he gives the defence something we haven't got with his pace and good left foot. Maguire looks a certain starter. But no one has nailed down the spot next to him.
James-not yet established in the Chelsea side but big hopes for him. Probably the area of the pitch where we have the most competition. Unless Southgate decides to experiment and move TAA to a different position I think James has a big fight on his hand.
Barkley- doesn't get alot of minutes for Chelsea but Southgate seems to trust him so I think he'll stay in the squad and make a few sub appearances.
Mount- England have been crying out for some creativity in the centre of the park with Henderson and rice. I think mount will start and do well tonight and continue to do well for club and country. Everything about the lads attitude screams class
RLC- difficult due to his injury, but long term I think he brings something to the side no one else does with his size, power and ability on the ball. A great option to have but as with the Chelsea side I think finding his best position and still fitting everyone into the team together could be difficult.
CHO- Abit like James in that we've alot of competition with sancho, sterling and rashford for attacking positions but I belive he's our most talented player and his talent will be very difficult to leave out once he hits top form. Seems like Southgate likes to rotate his attackers so I can see CHO getting plenty of game time in the future.
Tammy - mountain to climb for Tammy in that Harry kane scores alot of goals for club and Country, he's captain, and is a favourite of Southgates. That being said I don't think his overall play for England is great and has alot of penalties to help his goal tally. I also don't think he suits our style of play. For Tammy to become a starter he needs a great season and make his hold up play, pressing and movement something Southgate feels like he can't leave out. While also scoring plenty of goals

If James and CHO get to being regular starters for us they’ll get in the side

Tammy is quality and a great prospect. I think he has pace over kane.
To say Kane's overall play isn't great makes me think you don't really watch him play. He's passing range and ability to hold up the ball is excellent. Also great with providing defence splitting passes.
Very excited for Mount, he looks pure quality and exactly what England have been crying out for

Maybe slightly harsh on my part but do you honestly think Kane suits how England play? Or plays particularly well for them? I honestly don't

Perhaps James will be the one that turns out to be a midfielder further along the line in his development.
Has previous for being successful playing in midfield.

Rashford isn't competition (for either striker or wide spots), as far as I'm concerned.
Hudson-Odoi' footballing capacity far exceeds his, if Southgate is going with three attackers behind the striker...chance we could see all three of Sterling, Hudson-Odoi, Sancho starting together at some point in the future.
