Not far away

8pts from 12 against Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, Liverpool

2pts from 15 against Wolves, Palace, Southampton, West Ham, Newcastle

A lot has been said about Ole as a tactician but if this season and last season results are anything to go by then itโ€™s proof he can mix it up against the best teams. It isnโ€™t a fluke that heโ€™s managed to consistently take away points from the bigger teams. Iโ€™d love for Ole to be able to see this season through and given another window.

Weโ€™ve lost or drawn games this season by some very fine margins, itโ€™s clear for all to see we are lacking quality in midfield and in a couple of or forward positions. If we add the quality we need or at least for the time being manage to keep Pogba and Martial fit we should be securing a lot more points. As bad as we have been, it looks like we have one of the best defences in the league, we donโ€™t concede many chances. If we were as good going forward, weโ€™d concede even less because of the pressure weโ€™d apply in the oppositions final 3rd.

Iโ€™m certain once Ole adds the required quality, United as a team will be able to break the low block played by the smaller teams in the league. It will even give us that additional quality to put games like yesterday to bed.

Pereira received a lot of praise after his performance against Liverpool and rightly so but putting his amazing performance off the ball to one side, he lacked a lot in quality in the final 3rd. At one point Rashford did excellently to shrug the best defender in history off of the ball and pass it into Pereira. It was 2v2 and Pereira lost the ball in a dangerous position, maybe a Dybala would have taken advantage of such a brilliant opportunity. He also had the chance to slip James through on goal but opted for a 35 yard shot. Iโ€™ve seen him put those away at youth level but at 0-0 a more intelligent player would have found James instead. Iโ€™ve been one of Pereira's biggest supporters on here but Iโ€™ve never liked him in an advanced position. I always thought he did well sitting deeper and distributing. You can tell he still has this skill set from the beautiful floated balls out to Rashford when he seem to be isolated and under pressure on the other side of the pitch.

Where he played yesterday is a vital position and we certainly need a specialist there, Pogba did a brilliant job in that role last season when we were in full swing and Iโ€™d love to see him play there for the rest of this season.

He’s been at the club for nearly a year and hasn’t really improved us at all if we’re honest. If anything it’s going backwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what tends to happen when you average 6 injuries every game week and you don't improve the side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Every club has injuries

Have you not seen the things he’s done wrong with the players he’s had though? Do injuries mean he has to play Pogba in a two?

If you think counter attacking football is simply a "lottery" you don't know much about football and the history of United under Sir Alex Ferguson

it's easier to defend and sit back than to break down teams. The fact is Utd cannot break down teams that sit back.

Would not be surprised if you lost comfortably at Norwich
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it were easy to get 8 from 12 against those sides, why isn't everybody doing it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All the games were at Old Trafford first of all. You won;t get a single point from these games in the reverse fixtures.I would be worried that you are 13th and still have all these big away games to play
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet last season Ole secured 3pts away at Spurs, wins in the FA Cup away at Arsenal and Chelsea and 3pts Away at Leicester.

I’m certain you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Ole has turned us into a West Ham kinda side who raise our game against the big sides but have no idea how to play against the smaller sides

And it’s those games that will probably get him the sack. As the earlier poster said, it’s easier to get something out of the bigger games with such primitive tactics like counter attacking but is that really the side we want to become? I would expect it under Jose but not someone like Ole who is supposed to be bringing us a pressing game that doesn’t rely on the lottery of the counter attack and is so predictable against the smaller sides who know we offer nothing when they don’t give us space
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet his tactics against the smaller sides were effective during his first few months. Of course you will have a reason for this to suit your own agenda... something like “it was the honeymoon period” or some other nonsensical bollox which will explain away the reality of the hard work behind the scenes.

Hard work behind the scenes? ๐Ÿ˜‚

There was a new manager bounce. The players felt so repressed by Jose they exploded when he left and results came but if you remember around Jan onwards the signs that things weren’t so great started to appear and we started to struggle like against Palace and Burnley and even the Spurs game where we were hugely fortunate to win that game.

Then after we lost against Arsenal it messed up the confidence of the players and we’ve struggled ever since. We weren’t even that great yesterday and I suspect it was more an off day for Liverpool than an on day for us. After 70 mins Ole bottled it and we almost asked for Liverpool to score.

Ahhh the “new manager bounce” that old chest nut. The BTEC “honeymoon period”.

Your customary sucking off of Liverpool is also included, they didn’t play well because we didn’t let them. We were aggressive and they couldn’t play. It’s really simple to see if you don’t have an agenda.

I have said a few times that our problems over the years has been the amount of injuries we get. The only season post SAF we didn't get major injuries constantly was the season we finished 2nd.

Its worse this season as we don't have the players in place to step up, weakest being midfield and after Martial in CF (if we're saying Rashford is a wide forward) we have no direct back up for that position.

We need to add quality as well as build depth. Though in my mind the best thing we can do is sort out this injury crisis we always tend to get.

Other than Arsenal I don't think any other team has suffered as many iniuries as we have (we had the highest last season).

if you don't like the team atm why not disappear for little while. your constant whining like a little b tch is getting boring now. same repetitive articles and comments every time we play.

you will always find a flaw with ogs even if we win our next four games you will find something else to whine about

I've been quite critical of Ole tactically this season, but he got it right yesterday, but for a lapse at the back and we would have probably won against a very good side.
