MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES
Martin Fisher: Gates are down at St James' Park and it's not entirely down to fans boycotting the club in protest against Mike Ashley. Entertainment is in short supply. Four goals in four games, only two of those scored by Newcastle.
A relegation battle is looming and spirits are low. Victory over Manchester United brought hope but that carries less weight than it once did, and Wolves are likely to provide a much sterner test.
They've gone seven games unbeaten, including away wins at Manchester City and against Slovan Bratislava on Thursday.
Travel fatigue might be their biggest enemy - and Newcastle's chief ally.

We didn’t but Newcastle weren’t a massive threat in attack. £40m for Joelinton is a joke

Well apparently we would have won 1-0 had he played. He'd have used his powers of apparition to stop Lascelles' run or telekinesis to change the flight of the ball to win the header.

On reflection I think ol king Edward features will be happier with that point than Nuno. We should have taken those chances we had in the last few minutes the points were there for the taking.

Definitely 4 points dropped from the last two league games. Nuno at fault with the tactics in both instances IMO.

Yes agree, Doherty did miss a great chance at the end, and we certainly should have had a penalty otherwise we would have had a similar result to the ones in Besiktas and Slovan from similar performances. And been 6th in the league. Plus I think we would have kept a clean sheet if Boly had been playing, but to be fair they had Scharr out also
