The kids

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not getting carried away here, but I’m really excited about our current batch of young players.

I’m a huge fan of McTominay, but have also been really impressed with Tuanzebe, James and Pereira at times this season, with Greenwood, Williams and Gomes also very well thought of.

Now, I know we have all put high hopes on kids before (Rossi, Wilson, Macheda, Possebon, Morrison) but how good do we think these kids could be ? (as individuals, not a group)

I thought Real were short of money?

Getting a bit nervous about Gomes' contract situation, hopefully, he's only letting it run down to put himself in a better bargaining position come the summer? But with every intention of actually signing a deal, it would be a shame to see him walk for nothing.

I think Tuanzebe is better than Lindelof, Jones and Rojo tbh, looks very accomplished defensively and on the ball, it'll be interesting to see him play CB against a higher standard of opposition than he has been of course.

McTominay and Rashford are at worst, good squad options, Marcus had his chance to play through the middle and it's fair to say he didn't really take it, maybe his future does lie as a left-winger after all?

We really need a dependable left-back who can give us some balance, I think we should sell Shaw as he's lazy, but also spends a lot of time out of the team injured, a few games into the new season and we were already lining up with Young at LB. Williams, again, should at least be a back-up to a good LB.

Pereira, meh.

I often agree with you B&P but not this time. Shaw is a very good player when not injured.
It's too soon to say if Tuanzebe will be better than the other three.

I hope you are right but I just don't see it. I reckon he will move abroad.

He can be, but I’m including his injuries into his reliability too, he seems to be injured for 4-5 games at a time quite a bit during the course of a season.

I’d like to see Tuanzebe get a run of games because he has the attributes to be a really good CB IMO, plus he’s stronger than Lindelof, quicker than Jones, more composed than Rojo. But like I say, he needs to be tested against better opposition than Astana, although he did well, generally, against Arsenal at LB.

We won’t sell in jan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If he sticks a request in and we get a good offer I think we might.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wanted out all summer, no one wanted him.

He's been even worse since then so any buyer would have to be clinically insane to spend 100m+ on him.
