A lot of it will come down to how effectively Loftus-Cheek presses high for Frank's liking. The problem he has is Mount's probably the best player we have for that & they occupy similar roles.

I wouldn't put it past Lampard to find a spot for him somewhere, I'm done doubting him at this point.

Yeah Mount is better at pressing but I think RLC is better at nearly everything else. I think he’s the best we’ve produced since JT and if he gets fit and continues improving will be genuinely world class.

Subject of our best XI, gunna be interesting when everyone’s fit.

At CB I really just think it’s a case of Rudiger + whoever’s in form. I can’t really think of a case upto now for any of Christensen, Tomori and Zouma should be bonafide CB next to rudi. This isn’t a critical, they’re all good young(ish) CBs but they also have clear deficiencies and perhaps in an ideal world should be squad players for now.

I like both but i’d have RLC over Mount from what I’ve seen. Mount is an excellent goal threat and striker of the ball but isn’t a big influence over games and not especially creative. RLC has a similar goal threat but just a bit more dynamic in his overall performance. Even he I would say still struggles with a sustained impact over 90 min. And is worthy to note Mount is better at pressing.

In midfield, I agree with HHTBF that although they’re all in great form a midfield three in 4-3-3 isn’t best for Kante, Kova and Jorginho. Jorginho has done better than I thought he would this season, post-Sarri. However I still would do something perhaps a bit unpopular, in to focus on Kovacic as started next to Kante. So Kante is the main guy and Kova starts with him in a midfield two. This is because I think Kova can offer more in that position - at his best he has a brilliant passing range, tenacity in defence and his party piece of dribbling through lines. He also has potential to further improve. But when everyone is fit it will be Jorgi-Kante starting which i’m Fine with, still a good midfield.

For wings, again, for me whoever is in best form. I think all four of our wingers roughly are of similar quality and are capable of 3-4 games of being good and maybe 3-4 games of being not so good.

He's doing really well at Atletico, continuing to completely outshine Costa. Sometimes the player and the club just don't mix for whatever reason. Probably helping him that strikers with his aerial ability are less common in La Liga too.

Gunna be an interesting situation if we draw Atletico in the CL at some point in the next few years, will he crumble or grow a set and spank us? I'm intrigued

CHO and especially Pulisic are very close - but Willian has been in fine form too, and I just had to include Mount even if RLC is playing in that central position.

Jorginho captain. He has been our best player overall this season too - absolutely immense. Even though Kante (hopefully) will be fit for the Crystal Palace game next weekend - I worry about how we will perform with Jorginho suspended. He makes everyone around him play better.
