Son card

a lot has been said about Sons card, but i think many have misunderstood. it doesnt seem that at any point he did anything other than have the yellow card in his hand it was not shown to Son or aknowledged by Son. The first card shown to Son was the direct red. No i dont think it was a red not for Son at least, but var did not change that decision.

VAR has been atrocious all round. It should only be used for clear and obvious errors not for miniscule movements of the hand or legs etc.

Referees should be taking accountability and making judgement calls. If they are incompetent more often than not then relegate them and promote a more consistent referee into the league.

The only reason Son got a red card was because the serious injury was so visible. This is completely unjustified.

Next week numerous players will be booked whether the player gets substituted with injury or not.

Although it was a bad challenge,it should still only be a yellow.

Please, lets go back to pre-VAR times, it's getting ridiculous, the whole game is being ruined

That's the whole point about VAR - it's taking away ref's accountability. They should be left to judge marginal decisions for themselves unaided. Only obvious errors drawn to their attention. Ludicrous situation now, taking all spontaneity and joy out of the spectacle: messing with fans emotions, and we will get fed up with it all.

Show that foul to any referee in a blind test, and Son gets sent off every single time.

It was a desperate lunge from behind with both sets of studs off the turf.

The real mistake here was pulling out a yellow card instead of a red one in the first place.

To be honest when you make a cynical foul it's a calculated risk. Son didn't mean to break the lads leg and he was visably upset by the outcome but that's the risk you take.

The referee might've given him a mercy red card tbh. Seeing his reaction & knowing the crowd (those who didn't see it properly) were gunna slaughter him the rest of the match, gave him the chance to get off the pitch ASAP. I'd have done it in the refs position.

It'll be overturned respectively.

This must all come from the Shawcross/Ramsey incident where he walked away with a yellow card for that leg break. Shawcross tackle was pure filth unlike Son's which was the usual take one for the team fouls. They should all be judged on merit and not how many limbs have broken.
