Emery's last stand?

Arsenal travel to Leicester City tomorrow for a 5:30 kick off. Many fans are predicting (hoping) this game will be the last of the Emery era.

Leicester City are, of course, one of the form teams in the league and have won 3 in a row - including a 9-0 hammering of Southampton - since their last gasp defeat at Anfield.

With Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka unavailable, there are selection doubts - and even what formation we will use is open to question.

Leno will surely start in goal and Luiz and Sokratis seem very likely to play in defence.
Tierney played 90 minutes midweek, and has pulled out of Scotlands squad due to an underlying injury issue, so it is unclear if he or Kolasinac will start at left back (or, indeed left wing back).
Right back is also unclear, with neither Bellerin or Chambers playing midweek. It is possible Chambers, rather than Holding or Mustafi, would be the 3rd CB if Emery retains that system.

In midfield, Guendouzi and Torreira will surely start. Then it is a question as to whether we use Willock as a 3rd CM in 4-3-1-2 diamond in the same way we played last week. With a 3-4-2-1 system, as used in Portugal, it opens up the options of the 2 in midfield behind 3 of Ozil, Auba, Laca and Pepe. Another alternative is to go all out in a 4-2-3-1, with Auba and Pepe wide and Ozil behind Laca. Would be a brave move away to a free scoring team.

With an international break after this game, the fans speculation won't be dampened, although all sources close to those making the big decisions say we have no plan to sack Mr Emery irrespective of tomorrows result. (Would cost me £50 if he does go )

The second the club says they have no intention of sacking a manager, his cards are marked. If that topic is brought up at all then everyone knows he's in shtuck.

I sincerely hope this is Emery's last game in charge, even if it means us losing. I remember how we used to play when we were exciting and successful and watching this car crash every week depresses me.

Hoping for Arsenal to rush into an early 0:5 lead, leaving Emery finally realising his turgid tactics can no longer restrain our players.

As HT approaches, and after much jigging about with the zip, he tears off the long coat marked 'Arsenal Manager' and lobs it at Freddie, before walking across the pitch reaaaaaaally slowly, cupping his ear as the away fans boooooooOOOO! him.

Arsenal players retake the pitch for the 2nd half, all smiles, playing with a freedom not seen since prime-Wenger era.

Final score 5:5

I hope Emery isn't around for much longer. I used to get depressed when Arsenal lost but strangely it doesn't effect me now.

I do believe the players we have could and should get top 4 but not with this manager.

I have 3 Leicester players in my fantasy team and I think they will do well tomorrow. Might even make Vardy captain!

Tomorrow's result shouldn't be the deciding factor (the hopeless management for over a year is) but I guess it makes it easier for the board if we lose

😂 you have changed your tune very quickly. Now your creating articles like this?
Must be admitting defeat to our bet?

You must have missed this part "although all sources close to those making the big decisions say we have no plan to sack Mr Emery irrespective of tomorrows result. "

But still, I don't understand creating an article that is opposite or goes against your own belief. This article is very much suggesting emerys last game in charge...hence the title you've given it.

No shame in admitting that you also believe he will be gone this month 👍

The question mark is key in the title.

The sad thing about Emery's reign is the effect the rubbish football is having on supporter moral and confidence. Ive been a gooner for 60 years now and to be honest I expect Arsenal to lose or draw now and it doesn't really bother me , whereas in years gone by I would have the hump for days if we lost.
