This is how anonymous forums work in my mind.

Which is why I find it pretty baffling people repeatedly have made an issue about what my previous user name was.

Despite the fact I have repeatedly made it clear it would be nothing more than a massive disappointment if I told them. I am not and have never been anyone of any relevance on here.

Some folk on here seem to be desperate to prejudge your comments through a filter of what they believe to be true about you. Despite the fact they actually know virtually nothing about you at all.

It seems to make them uneasy if they cant prejudge your comments - THEY want to be able to decide what you meant by a comment. There have been multiple times I have been told with great conviction (yet completely incorrectly) what I really meant when I had actually typed something quite innocent.

Thats not really how it works for me to be completely honest. I rarely pay much attention to the names attached to comments.

There are only one or two people I have probably made my mind up about and am wary of getting involved with on here. And that is because they have been so relentlessly dickish in my dealings with them in the past.

But that said I wouldn't make any assumption that they are really as much of an erchie in real life as they come across on here.

For me this is a form of escapism from the normal working day. A place to chat sheidt about football and sometimes make a bit of a tool of yourself - but all in good fun.

For others it is more - it is a place to begin to form real world friendships. And that is fine too. Its just not for me

The whole who were you before probably stems from the likes of Ishy, ESC,Nicky Law and TCD who continually created new accounts and came back as an even bigger banger.

I wouldn't take it too personally.

I don't take it personally.

I just don't have the same desire to attach a label to a poster.

So the fact it REALLY seems to get to some folk is a bit bizarre in my eyes.

But the main point is that the people that continually question it essentially seem to believe I am doing it because I am hiding something.

Is it really just too much to accept that - as I said - I am not and never have been anyone of any relevance on here.

Just roll with it and get on with the footy chat....
