It sounds like a horror movie, could very well turn out to be just like that still.
So, on Friday we find out who we can get in the first play off game. One thing we do know is the game will be played at Hampden which is a bonus.
Truth is, every team we can face at this stage are beatable, however, we're not a great side, far from it.
Last night we seen the good and bad side of us under Clarke. First half was absolutely god awful, 3 out of the back 4 were atrocious and in Scott McKenna we had the biggest diddy to sit at centre half since Russell Martin.
I thought Taylor looked so far out his depth he could have been hooked at half time and Palmer didn't know whether he wanted to pass forward or go for a tug.
Gallagher was the only player in defence to emerge with any real credit over the full 90 last night, he was calm on the ball, defended well and he's actually starting to look a bit like the player he threatened to be when he was 15 & 16.
Anyway, 2nd half was so much better, i thought we were excellent and the tempo to our play was something we need to ensure we start games with and then learn to manage the games better. John McGinn came alive and he suits that role behind the striker very well, i even wonder if we could go with him up top, his big fat erse holds defenders off for days
Forrest was very good for the majority of the game, should have scored and unlucky not to get a few assists.
Ryan Jack had a better 2nd half and influenced the game, along with McGregor who i thought had his best game in a Scotland jersey for some time.
Naismith & Christie were decent but not great, thought both could have done much more with the ball at their feet.
It's something to build on and when you add in the following players who should be available for the play offs then we have a glimmer of hope.

Souttar
Griffiths notched a double for the ressies last night so i'd like to think he'll be in the squad for Celtic on Saturday and i also think he'll play both EL games so we can keep Eddy fresh so for Scotland sake, lets hope he finally takes his chance.

Ok, about 3 minutes after the goal Davie Provan mentions McGregor, not for any fault he states and i quote
"I think it's Callum McGregor who tries to get back but it's too late, the centre halfs continue to back off and you can't argue with the strike"

That sounds more like a compliment that a critisism, he saying Callum tried to get back.

Actually he said he's too late rather than it's which suggests he could have got there.

Ridiculous, I've just watched the goal again, McGregor is in an advanced position when Scotland lose the ball, and i'd say he actually makes more effort than any other player to get back, if you can watch that goal and attribute blame to Callum then you clearly have an agenda.
