Media: City enter race for European hotshot?

City welcome Chelsea to the Etihad tomorrow for a huge Premier League encounter.
Frank Lampard's young side have started the season well and will pose a significant threat. This morning's papers have had their say on that game, and there's some injury news for the visitors, too.
But we'll start today's Media Watch with some transfer news. As ever, a pinch of salt is needed...

Transfer News
The Metro: City join United in race to sign Erling Haaland
Sean Kearns writes: "Manchester City have entered the race for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland and recently hosted the forward’s father, Alf-Inge, at the Etihad for their victory against Atalanta in the Champions League.
"The 19-year-old is considered one of the hottest properties in Europe after scoring an incredible 26 times in 18 appearances for Salzburg this term and is the leading scorer in this season’s Champions League with seven goals.

"The teenager joined the club from Norwegian side Molde, where he was given his debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Inevitably, that’s led to reports that United are keen on signing the striker but there is truth in the speculation, with Solskjaer dispatching his most trusted scout, Simon Wells, to watch over Haaland in recent months.
"But United will face fierce competition for Haaland and Metro.co.uk can reveal City have launched a charm offensive for the striker’s signature by hosting his father at last month’s 5-1 win against Atalanta at the Etihad."
The Star: Arsenal and City plot transfers for Leicester stars
Dave Armitage writes: "England full back Ben Chilwell is a target for both Arsenal and Manchester City while Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans are also believed to be on Pep Guardiola's wish list.
"Rodgers understands the speculation but insists that it remains just that saying he intends finishing the season with the players who started it – and more."

Predictions
BBC Sport: Premier League predictions
Mark Lawrenson writes: “Man City v Chelsea (17:30 GMT)
“Chelsea have won their past six Premier League games and are obviously going extremely well.

“But I would always back Manchester City when they are at home against another big club. They often seem to find an extra gear in them, and they very rarely lose them.
“There won't be a repeat of the scoreline from last season, when City won 6-0, but I am still expecting Pep Guardiola's side to win.
“Lawro's prediction: 2-0"
Injury News
The Sun: Live Chelsea news
SunSport Reporters write: “Christian Pulisic is likely to be out for Chelsea's huge clash with Manchester City on Saturday evening.
“The American stayed in London over the international break in an attempt to recover from a hip injury he picked up in the 2-0 win over Palace.
“The news could come as a big blow for boss Frank Lampard with the 21-year-old hitting a rich vein of form.
“Pulisic introduced himself to the Premier League when he hit a hat-trick in a 4-2 away win at Burnley at the end of October.
“He then followed it up with goals against Watford and Crystal Palace to take his tally to five in just six league starts."
That's all for this morning's Media Watch - but stay with us throughout the day as we bring you all the latest ahead of Saturday's big game.
