MILLWALL v FOREST - Match Thread

Can’t stand Millwall, their supporters are racist and a disgrace, and that sentiment has been a feature of their whole club for years - is truth be told, I think I dislike them more than Derby

I don’t want to waste my time even talking about the match against them - I just hope Forest can go there and beat them - 3 points and that’s it

If we’re serious about Promotion....no, if we’re serious about making the Playoffs, then this game is one we need to win - no defeat, no draw, just a win, and that will guarantee us at least our top 4 position

That’s all

Apart from the Leeds result - a perfect set of results for us today

If we can win our game in hand, we’d be up to 3rd -

Yes, makes that point look even more valuable from last night. 👍🏼

Will, I’m still vexed at last nights result and over all performance - why it took us 45 minutes to even turn up is very frustrating, and not good signs for a team trying to stay in the playoffs

I know a point away from home isn’t a bad result, but the way we’re playing this season, I actually feel more comfortable with us when we’re away from home

For whatever reason, Forest haven’t really got to grips on how to play at home - it seems when the boys is on us to attack and show incentive, we don’t really know how to go about it - whereas playing away from home, where we can attack teams in the counter seems to suit us much better - very strange

And that's the big problem Rev. Four of our next six games are at home. Most other teams would be seeing that as an opportunity to climb the table. I'm just not that confident that we've figured out our Home style yet.

Ribiero and Sow are both starters and are a big miss. Robinson isn't at the same level and Semedo isn't match fit, with Yates suspended. Add those players back in and I'd expect us to start earning more points.

A good point, but dissapointing to draw after being so close to the win.

The Baggies are 3 - 1 up at half time. Seems like they are going to romp automatic promotion and fair play to them. I thought that losing Rodriguez and Gayle in the summer their goals would dry up and they would be lucky to make the play offs. They have scored 13 goals more than us after 20 games which is why we need someone to match Grabbs goal tally in the second half of this season.

We were promoted with van Hooijdonk and Campbell, we narrowly mised out with Johnson and Harewood. Goals get promotion.

Buy us a striker Mr Marinakis, please

I'm sure Hugill or Wells could be lured away from QPR. Failing that a cheeky bid for Britt or Marriott might be taken seriously.

No imports of Prem U23 academy graduate who can't get a game. To paraphrase we need an 'oven ready' striker.

Also bring back Tyler Walker if possible as third choice.

Red you are right, goals will get a team promotion - but unfortunately we only have 1 proven goal scorer

Unless we are prepared to go all out and spend big on a proven one, then unfortunately, we will end up getting some half ar$ed addition that might get a cue here and there, but will not put us in a position to compete with the likes of Leeds and WBA

At present they both look nailed on certainties for the automatic places, which is a real shame because I feel if we were prepared to spend on a quality proven striker we have the rest of the squad to match anyone in this league

Personally, my fear is that Forest will with scrape into the playoffs or just miss out - and even if we do get into them, I just feel from past experiences we will falter and lose them

And if that happens, I wonder what the Chairman’s reaction will be to that, starting back at square one all over again next season - I doubt he’ll be overly impressed

Thoughts on that hypothetical scenario

I don’t agree they necessarily have to break the bank to get another forward in. It is about the scouting network coming up with additions that can come in and make the difference for the Reds. I would say they are well in credit following the additions in the summer so they deserve patience and time as the Jan window is notoriously difficult to get deals done. We would all love to see a Dwight Gayle level striker in but it may that his price tag could be prohibitive and is he match fit?

Also got to factor in FFP restrictions on spending. The Greeks have managed to get the club in a much healthier position. It would be a gamble to spend getting their limits now IMO and the EFL would no doubt come down harder on Forest for breaching the rules a second time.

Might left field suggestion would be a cheeky bid for Lyle Taylor at Charlton. 29 years old and scoring well this season. Also, Steven Fletcher could provide the physicality they need up front that will be required as the season wears on.
