This is what you asked for

You were warned what would happen when Wenger left

You were warned that finishing top 4 20 years in a row was nothing to be sniffed at and that one day you would look at that achievement for what it was.

You were warned you had no obligation or entitlement to a top four place or a premier league trophy

Yet you hounded the manager out and did not allow for a decent succession plan to be mapped out for when he finally stepped down. We then had to rush the recruitment, picked up Emery and this is where we are now

Everything that is happening now is fully deserved

Be careful what you wish for

Emery was a poor man's Wenger.

Wenger tainted his legacy at the end.
He morphed into a demagogue, gaslighting the board and owner to extend his tenure.
At the very least, 80% of the mess we are in today are attributable to him.

A proper run club would have had a proper plan in place years ago. Even if Wenger was winning trophy after trophy, we’d have had to replace him at some point soon as he’d retire. A properly run club would have also started taking steps to replace emery after that awful end and losing europa league final, but they sat on their hands until last week

The fans aren’t to blame for wanting change from mediocrity, it’s the club who can’t deliver or make any plans

More endorsement of your typical arsenal fan and the general knowledge that they are terrible

Sadly given how the club is being run I think had Wenger gone 5/6 years prior we'd be in an even worse position

Wenger caused all of this. He was aa genius for 10 years, then he went soft. The signs were there and he should have been replaced with Simeone or Klopp a long time ago. Now Wengers nice, soft and unfocussed squad cannot break the mold.

Apart from your long hatred of Wenger what in that last 18 months has made you think that?

Pointed out countless times on these forums that arsenal were more reliant on Mr Wenger than United were on SAF.

United's very real directional problems started way before SAF left. But Arsenal's more severe problems started because they were too reliant on Mr Wenger's unique capacity to turn averageness in players into above average levels of confidence and achievement as a squad.

He was the best I have ever seen at that.

Don't get me wrong, he had his faults. Part of his philosophy was to overlook the squads general thuggery and/or simulation in the first six seasons (a philosphy that garnered great success) and then when that was extracted from the squad, the league success dried up.

When he was forced out, the averageness of the players became even more evident as his ability to disguise that was gone.

Arsenal fans never realised how great their manager was, nor how average the players he managed were. The clues were all there.
