Bolton Wanderers v AFC Wimbledon

After a what seems a long unscheduled 2 weeks winter break football is back at the unibol today. AFC Wimbledon are in town, only the 3rd meeting between the 2 clubs. A club formed in 2002 after the original Wimbledon fc moved to Milton Keynes. 6 promotions later AFC Wimbledon found themselves in league one in 2016. 3 years later the club find themselves in a relegation battle. Currently 5th bottom 3 points above the relegation zone and 15 over Bolton. A massive gap to make up so a home win is essential today. Team news. Josh earl is suspended for today's game. Hints by Keith hill of more injuries picked up so today's starting line up should be interesting reading.

2-2 Not a complete disaster.

Catching up. Wimbledon went 2-1 needless foul by verlinden. Free kick into the box, couldn't clear. Goal. Struggled all game with balls into the box
Wimbledon the same. Cross from the right by verlinden for dodoo to head home his first Bolton goal in injury time. Got away with it somewhat.

Some thoughts - got away with it today - a poor first half and an utterly gifted opening goal for Wimbledon, (possession lost too easily in a key area). A better second half with another gift for their second. We had 4 warnings about the far post cross.

2 really great headers though. Thought we should've tested their keeper a lot more he favoured a kid they found outside who fancied a game.

Hopefully this condemnes O'Grady to the bench as a player to come on up front as he aint suited to the wide areas. The whole of our right side needed to be switched on more as well.

Off the pitch the PA guy sounded like he was automated today - perhaps they had a last minute stand in. Though tunes on during the first part of the second half may become a thing - who knows.

I’ve had season tickets since we moved to the Reebok; I didn’t attend the first few this season, but that said today was the worst performance I’ve ever seen. No passion, no plan....what did Hill do with this lot for the last 2 weeks. well it sure as hell was not passing practice because today that was a disgrace. Now we get the Hill ‘We formed a team in 24 hours message’ but how can you play so well against Fleetwood and deliver the garbage that was today . How can you not spot how utterly out of his depth Sonny Graham was today and why on Gods green earth put a winger on and consistently have 40 yards between him and the rest, especially given none of the *****ers can pass.
I’ll give Hill the January refresh, but based on the last few matches he has a lot to prove

I'm giving hill some slack here. 10 players out injured. Good ones too who would be in the side not the bench. Add earl suspended. Killing any Hope's of a recovery from -12. Some of the players not ready. Graham no where near not is darcy who was mom for me but physically he looks weak. The centre backs are poor. Zouma tries but hes only here because he had an u23 contract and we have no one else. The only criticism is why play o'Grady wide and leave out verlinden then verlinden comes on and gives a stupid free kick away to concede the 2nd. January I don't know what can be done. We have 23 pros and that's our lot. Send some of the loans back and release chicksen and Buckley and replace with equal numbers. I'm not going to judge hill properly until next season when he has had a pre season including friendlies and some signings . A lot of work needed as only brockbank and Edwards have deals until next season. Going to take a lot of time and patience to rebuild the club.

Benny I go along with everything you have said, BUT a gag round K.H mouth is all I ask,
My teacher used to tell me stories, I’m much to old for them now.😉

Its true that KH has to be given time. He was handed a bum hand and is doing his best to get matters settled with a squad full of injured players and no chance of recruiting new players until January. Even then his hands are somewhat tied with the club being under embargo.

However, I'm with Golden, he needs to stop telling us that its not his fault. Every time he speaks he throws it into the interview, " I won't be the scapegoat for the past." I don't think that anyone could or would blame him for what went on before he arrived. He needs to concentrate on the job in hand rather than bleating on with what happened in the past. It's getting a bit boring.

Just watched the highlights Jake Wright had so much time to get a challenge in, but he never tried to get the ball.
He has to do much better than that.
