Well that was a shocking performance

Just got home from the match.

The whole team were poor across the pitch today.

We just have to swallow it and move on to the next game, however we need a big improvement next week, or Spurs are going to stuff us.

Good thing transfer ban lifted. We need to buy. Neymar, LB and a CB
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Peronally i hope we don't panic buy. I am more than happy for us to stick with what we have till the summer and allow time for some strategic buying of players rather than knee jerk buying
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A decent LB is the only immediate priority in my opinion.

I don't understand this clamour for a new CB. Rudiger's only just come back and we've not yet had a chance to evaluate who's best (if any) to partner him yet.

I've a feeling that him and Tomori could form a decent partnership, yet if we start throwing money about again on average players we'll never see what we've got in our own back yard!

A decent 2nd striker would be good, as I don't think Batshooey oe Giroud cut the mustard to be honest but it'll be hard finding that Ole Gunner type striker that will be happy to play 2nd fiddle to Tammy, especially in January!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah good call Brummie. We haven't even seen a Rudi and Tomori partnership yet so it wouldn't necessarily be the right answer to bring in a CB this window.

Having said that I would understand us signing Ake this Jan because he can also play at LB which is an area we seem a bit uncertain at right now. Certainly don't want to see Azpi played there again.

I wouldn't be a massive fan of going for Sancho, not that I don't think he's a good player but I feel there needs to be some sort of a semblance of balance between youth and experience and we're probably already a little too far imbalanced towards youth as it is.

For that reason, when we bring in a replacement for Pedro and Willian, I'd rather see someone like Saha!

My only concern there, Superb, is does Ake see himself as a CB or LB?

With his age, experience and current reputation would he want to be first choice CB, in which case what happens to Zouma, Tomori, Christensen and further down the line, the promising Ghuei!

As I've said before, If we could get Werner in to partner Tammy I would be over the moon, but I don't think it will happen.
Ake would be fine by me ,but of course he's injured for the next few weeks,
Koulibaly anyone ?

Apparently a good player - but again I question why?

We've not fully tried out the current CB options we have. Most of us have been impressed by Tomori yet there's a clamour to start going back to buying our way out of trouble rather than develop what we have!

I just feel that we could do with a little bit of fire and brimstone in and around our defensive area !
No complaints about the boys though, they are our future and I have every faith ,but another class defender would do the team the world of good.

Perfect, but would have to act now to get any value out of the deal. He'll cost more than VVD did for Liverpool.

That's the one & only panic buy I'd accept. World class CB's will become an inevitability playing this football down the line, if we address it now (even to the determent of someone already at the club) I won't complain.

Brum I think that Ake probably identifies as more of a CB but also a player that would be happy enough playing LB when needed and doing a good job there as well.

As for Christensen I don't think he has any future here beyond this season. And personally I'd feel much more comfortable going into a season with Rudi, Ake, Tomori and Zouma as our four CB's.

Personally I'd much rather we spend £40 million on Ake than around £100 million on Koulibally who has no PL experience, even if he has earned rave reviews in Serie A. The PL is a much quicker league and whenever I've watched Koulibally he doesn't look like the quickest.

I tend to agree with you over AC Superb, I'm also not convinced by Zouma in the long term and if we started next season with Rudiger, Ake, Tomori and Guehi as our 4 CB choices, I wouldn't be entirely unhappy!
