How?

How can a team be labelled ‘champions of the world’ when they haven’t even been champions of their own country for nearly 30 years?

He called Fluminese something like a bunch of nobody’s the other day. There only one of the biggest clubs in Rio and Brazil and play in the world famous Maracana.

Meanwhile Spurs are known all over the world

There's no doubt in my mind that Liverpool are currently the best team around, not champions yet, but soon will be. And if the fans want to celebrate the win, why not.
Apparently we won it in 2008, poolmyfinger informed me, but I don't remember or care.
Titles, CLs, FA cups and league cups are all I care about.
Any Liverpool fan out there who prefers it to the title?

OP, you make a very valid point, winning a couple of friendlies hardly makes up for not having won a domestic title this century.

Well done Liverpool for winning the world charity shield.

Anyone else find it funny that Sandy (amongst other) refers to the biggest games in spurs history as “a friendly”. I mean we all know that was the easiest win we have ever had in a final but calling it friendly is maybe a bit much....

Wasn’t it 1-0 after extra time?

I don’t agree with your premise, but if it helps distract you from the pain of seeing Man U descend into utter mediocrity then it’s understandable.
