Media Watch: De Bruyne tipped for top award
Two days on from orchestrating City’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City and Kevin De Bruyne is still the name on everyone’s lips.
The Belgian has been widely praised for his performance and that continues in Monday’s sports pages.
Named as a leading contender for the end of season awards by one pundit, Brendan Rodgers has also complimented De Bruyne, who he says is a privilege to watch.
Opinion
"He has destroyed Arsenal and Leicester in a matter of days.
"Kevin de Bruyne now joins Liverpool's Sadio Mane as another one of my early candidates for the PFA Players' Player of the Year. In fact, I would put him ahead of Mane to win the award.
Men's Team
Guardiola praises impact of City fans
"Such pronouncements will not come as earth-shattering news to anyone who watches the Premier League on a regular basis.
"Nevertheless it has to be said that De Bruyne is playing scintillating football."
From the managers
Daily Mirror: Brendan Rodgers in awe of "world class" Kevin De Bruyne
"Kevin is unbelievable. He’s a world-class player and, with world-class players, they’ll find the space.
"You can block up spaces and be tight and organised, but the world-class players will find the space.
"It’s his level and mentality. To see it live, at that level and with that quality, was absolutely great."

KDB must be the form player in world football now. Sergio has just been voted the most iconic player of the decade, awards for both would be very well deserved. Thought Mendy had his best game since his return from injury but he was in danger of becoming lonely for long periods as no Leicester player was anywhere near him, probably because they never had less than 2, and often 3 players on Sterling. I'm sat pretty much at the back of the stand and I was closer to him than anyone from Leicester was for most of the game. How such a limited team are second is a sad indictment on the state of the PL this season.
