It's Sunday, I've got pages and pages of the Times to go through and coffee on tap all day.. Time to relax
There are enough Articles discussing the football, so I'll leave them be..
This article is about going to the football past or present and a song imprinted in your head.. A moment, a build up to a game etc...
I'm ready for the one stars and not sure how it will go, so I'll start.
2 songs always when I hear them, remind me of Bolton games..
1) Come on Eileen (Dexy's Midnight Runners)
Simply reminds me of being a kid, sat in the Manny Road, near the Embankment. When I hear this song, I think of match day, eating a pie and asking what the hell that little Blue car is doing parked o our running track! (not sure everyone will get that)..
2) Umbrella (Rihanna)
Slight cheat, but I have video footage I recorded in the Vincente Calderon when we play Ath Madrid.. I do a spin of the stadium to show it empty an hour before kick off apart from 3000 Bolton fans.. This song is on in the background!!
Anyone any??

Afternoon, MT. Nice to see a thread that's nor related to our current form. At times like this I get depressed reading the forums. I wish we could have separate boards for the positive and negative people.
Has anyone else noticed this current trend at football matches in general for fans to sing songs to the tune of Sloop John B from the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album? Lots of variations. Even though that's been a favourite album of mine for most of my life, that song now reminds me of Wigan away last season in the cup when there was a near 50/50 split home/away fans and we were all singing that we want to go home, Wigan's a [dirthole], we want to go hoooooo-ooooo--oooome....

Not a bad idea ...although it may be be better to call 'em the ' Fantasy ' and ' Reality ' boards
What a pity we couldn't sing somethin' rousin' like ' Tomorrow Belongs To Me ' ....With a bit of tinkerin' on the words, it could be a winner. Unfortunately, the right-wing implications (you'll know what I mean if you YTube it) makes it a non-starter ... plus, the Coalition Govt might already have plans for it anyway, for their next election campaign

MT - i remember when the man in the little blue car was hit full in the face during a game, the paddock didn't know whether they could laugh or not.
Must say as well i don't like the Depeche Mode we play now, why pick that song?

I've asked the same question about the blue car.
I've refused to sing the such and such a place is a ____hole version of the song and would only take another club's fans singing it to us if they were from somewhere really decent.
For some reason I've got the song from the start of the 1992-93 season video in my head right now (do do do dodo dododododo)

Mine would be Pink Floyds' Brick in the Wall part 1, when we beat Burnley 3-0 at Burnden Park in 1983 and Jim McDonagh, our goalie sealed it a 100 yard goal.
Largehats choice is a close second.
