First things first, happy new year everyone. I'm sure every Bolton fan will be glad to see the end of 2019 and under football ventures ownership even if the club is in league two next season the future will be brighter. Burton similar opponents to Shrewsbury, solid mid table league one side. Managed by Nigel Clough who has been crying in the media that other clubs have had an advantage playing Bolton's youth team in August. Bore off Nigel. The clubs have only met 3 times. Burton did the double over Bolton 2 seasons ago and also won a league cup game in 2015 at the macron. Also Bolton have never scored against Burton. Team news. Liam Bridcutt is injured again joining bunney, crawford, buckley and hobbs in sickbay. Jason Lowe serves the first of a 3 game ban. 2 changes likely. Chicksen who came on for bridcott to keep his place and sonny graham for Lowe. Its January and the transfer window is open. Chicksen and Buckley are out of contract after today and will have to renew deals. 4 loan players deals expire. Earl, wright, verlinden and bridcutt will either re sign or go back to their parent clubs. Bolton don't have a game until a week on Saturday so a bit of time to sort that out.

A couple of points interested me this morning.
1. The call for the EFL to release information as to the facts of what went on when our club failed to play two fixtures at the beginning of the season. It seems to me that the EFL has questions to answer. Will the EFL issue a statement? Somehow I doubt it.
Doncaster Rovers are now looking at the findings of the independent panel with a view of possibly taking legal action. After two separate panels agree with the outcome, I feel that we must have a very strong case and it seems to me that the EFL are the main culprits in what transpired. Perhaps Doncaster Rovers should be looking at the EFL rather than BWFC. One thing I do know is that our owners could well do without any further action being taken by Doncaster Rovers It's time to let sleeping dogs lie and get on with playing football.
2. Mo Faal our new striker who scored 27 goals in 30 games. Could we have found the hidden gem that I referred to in a previous post? They have always been there but it's a bit like finding hen's teeth. Let's hope that we have found that elusive tooth. He could be the difference between staying up or relegation.

Doncasters manager is crying now https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/weve-done-nothing-wrong-weve-been-penalised-disappointed-doncaster-rovers-boss-darren-moore-handling-bolton-wanderers-conflict-1358228 Punished? All they have is had a match postponed. Has this never happened before. Biggest set of self centered arse-holes.and that's me being polite.

Benny, I agree. I have just tweeted Darren Moore via Doncaster Rovers to point out that they haven't been punished. We will play two games and they have the opportunity to get six points from those games.
He's making a mountain out of a molehill.

Hope Muhammadu Faal does well for you

He's a friend of my younger brother and has done amazing for Enfield Town. Obviously this is a step up but he has the attributes and attitude for it. Reminds me of Tammy Abraham.
He's a very tall forward but prefers playing on the ground.

Faal a no risk signing. Expect him to get a lot of game time due to the lack of depth in the squad. Another signing today. Centre back Toto nsiala on loan from Ipswich the 4th signing of the January window. Will Buckley has left the club. Adam chicksen is available for Rochdale but his contract expires before lincoln away on tues. Will round it all up on tomorrows matchday thread.

Boss By Hugo. I hope that he will bring some goals with him. He will no doubt get a great welcome from the fans. He sounds like a player who will give his all and has confidence in his ability.

On Toto, this is what his Manager had to say about him. "I think he needs game time," said Ipswich boss Paul Lambert. "He’s not high in confidence at the minute.
"He gives you everything, there’s no fear from me with his effort, but he’s just having a bit of a hard time that players sometimes go through.
"I can’t fault him for his commitment but he’s just in need of a confidence boost."
Hopefully, Keith Hill and Flicker will install confidence in him. I must say his manager's comments give me cause to worry about him.
