So currently 5 down against City and will probably lose 7 or 8 but todays selection from Smith was totally desperate. Enter Drinkwater, 2 games in 2 years in the premiership and gets and instant start against City .. REALLY ?!! Was was Smith thinking ?!!! Total madness in my view. It just goes to show how desperate things are getting. Still no sign of a striker incoming even though we clearly need 2. I actually think we are down already along with Norwich, Smith is out his depth in this league and as much as I love what he did in getting the club promoted he is taking us down and fast. Brighton next week and isn't it guaranteed Maupay will score !!

I wouldn't worry about today mate. City is deffo the best team in the league. Injury and VAR caused them issues but they are back now.
I am sure Villa will be back against other sides

As Morespurs said, anyone can get a hiding from City. If there was ever a good time for Smith to fack around with his lineup, it might as well be against them. He's certainly earned the benefit of the doubt in my book.
Villa's high paced style has been a breath of fresh air to the league, but I'm sure he realises that he'll need to grind out a number of results now that we're in the business end of the season. And a conservative lineup such as the one he sent out today will do a great deal to achieve this.
I know Arsenal aren't that far off the drop zone, but I'd be surprised to see you lot slide straight back down.

Playing Drinkwater was pragmatic. He was brought in to play, needs to play to get match fit. Our chances of getting anything from the match weren't great. So, play him and get him up to speed.
The matches which matter are the 3 coming up. MC didn't matter. That's the cold, hard, pragmatic way of looking at it.
