I just think he’s past it, he won’t last 90 minutes and not sure his heart will be in it

He played 42 times for Brighton last season and netted 15 goals.

Yes he is 36, but he is more than capable and he'll hit the target, when given the opportunity.

He won't get 10 goals, no January signing does, but he'll as damn sure improve our attacking options.

Ten goals in a possible 18 starts? Not a chance. Grabban might manage that at a push and if we get a few more pens.

His scoring rate in his last two seasons has been about 1 in 3 (in the Prem) but this season he has got no goals in seven starts - hence Brighton willing to let him go.

The player sees his next contract as his last, so he will go to whoever offers him the most money - never a good motive for player or club.

I'd much prefer to sign someone who sees the move as a possible route to he Premier League rather than one saying goodbye to it.

Too old, simple as, imo would be another Daryl Murphy. I’d much sooner have someone for the future, ideally around early too mid twenties, unfortunately there aren’t many about. I’d really like someone of the calibration of Jarrod Bowen from Dull, but doubt that is going to happen. Should we sign Murray, definitely no longer than an 18 month deal.

Murray would be perfect for us. We’re trying to get promotion and he’s a goal scorer and tough competitor.

We need someone to help get goals for the next 3.5 months, not the next 3.5 years; you get them in the summer

Sounds like we more likely to go for a Portuguese lad from Strasbourg

Nuno Da Costa is looking close, Bunk and also Farid Boulaya from Metz is in advaced talks.

Looks like the French league is where we are shopping; Anigo and Modesto, along with Sabri, know these leagues well.

Fingers crossed they work, recent history suggests they may.
