He was one of the best basketball players of the modern game. In some people's opinion, he was Michael Jordan's heir. Is that name familiar?

Since retiring, he'd entered into film making and writing and other ventures.

His 13 year old daughter, who was already tipped as a future star in the women's basketball league, died in the same crash. Along with three other passenger, including a parent and child Bryant was travelling with to a basketball tournament.

Helicopters USED to have an impeccable flight safety record. So I want to know how/why all these helicopters have been dropping out of the sky in the last few years and more importantly, how comes it only seems to be happening to helicopters owned by wealthy, high profile business people and outspoken celebs. Plenty of everyday people use helicopters on a daily basis (far more than rich flash hits), yet the ones with random nobody's in, don't appear to be crashing at the same alarming rate.
