Serious question. What is India's most telling contribution to modern cricket right now?
Now their international sides have been exposed as semi-decent but overrated celeb teams, whats their biggest impact on the game?
The IPL.
A competition ruining international cricket by literally tearing apart the likes of Windies and NZ. Such is the level of devastation wreaked upon the West Indies side, one wonders if WI will still be a cricketing nation in 5-10 years time. WI will never be able to pay IPL wages, this is exploiting that fact pure and simply, a grubby business indeed.
Well done India on being the commercial home of cricket. Well done indeed.

Why do people talk about ipl..... See your own reality of EPL first and then complain about ipl..... EPL barely have english players left in it, and it doesnt even help England football, yet you see people paying 1000s of pound to watch a manchester match..... IPL is a problem because it is not an english premier league or an australian premier league.

Sorry, Viru, but the EPL is class and I mean classes above the IPL. You say EPL hardly has any English players, well you think the IPL succeeds just because of the Indian players? I think not.
The best team in the EPL has some of the best English players in the country, as do other teams. There may be more foriegn players, but it's not as bad as it looks, especially, if you look closely!

sorry amir not comparing ipl with EPL.... ipl doesnt come a mm close to EPL and that wasnt the point of that comment......but its simple reason that people and I mean english fans hate ipl so much.... seriosly do you think if ipl was APL or EPL people would bring this up about ipl.
PS im not a fan of ipl, and I hate the t20 format, but i dont like this bashing of everything about indian cricket. In the previous t20 thread of west indies vs england, I also mentioned that im ashamed that west indies players are missing national duty for ipl duty, so it shows im clearly against ipl.

Its sickening to be honest. whats this champions league none sense now? More 20/20 cricket. they just finished a 6 week ipl in may now this again.. and the entire cricketing world apart from India and the players in these teams who make money. No one gives a damn about it. I have never watched a domestic 20/20 game on telly not one in the uk and certianly not one in India. To me, if you excuse the pun. Its not cricket..

Even if you are right, and the EPL is ruinking football, that doesn't make it right for the IPL!
Two wrongs don't make a right and the EPL is nothing to do with cricket anyway. (BTW: There are about 170 English players in the EPL - plenty of room for the talented.)
