Really hoped Lindelof would settle into the role by now then but hes soo error prone and gets pushed of the ball easily. Thought playing alongside Maguire would help him but Maguire isnt showing the same form he did at Leicester but he came from a really good side to this shambles so hes allowed some leeway.
Will Lindelof improve?
Lindelof too error prone

Never fit but this error prone thing is a bit of a myth.
....
No it isn’t. He has been awful pretty much every time he has played for the last two years.

I wouldn't go that far.
Bailly's problem is that throughout a game he can look absolutely world class, and then out of nowhere completely switch off or do something erratic that leaves you scratching your head. That, or he goes off injured.
I think it was Chelsea last season where he'd been drafted back into the team, was having an absolutely brilliant game and then had to go off injured in the second half.
A bit like Tuanzebe... He isn't going to fulfil his potential in the treatment room.
Would like to see Smalling & Maguire next season with Bailly & Tuanzebe as backup.

Judging by Wood Ards comments regarding holding and acquiring assets, then Oles around Sanchez returning, i expect Smalling will stay.

I said it from day one, Bailly is ten times the defender he is, the guy gets injured and all of a sudden his ability comes into question.

he didnt just get injured though, he is always injured

Smallng needs to go permanently. he is not good enough for a team wanting to compete. he seems to have gone up massvly in terms of ability in peoples eyes since he went on loan. hes still the same sub par player he was for us his whole career.
He needs to go, as does baily. not for ability but his injury/ appearance record is awful. Both need replacing. Lindelof should be the david may of this squad. 4th choice and rarely seen on the pitch.

I cannot see Smalling or Bailly proving to be more valuable than Lindelof if Ole is going to absolutely insist on playing out from the back (and I think he is).
Either might work in a three, but Tuanzebe and TFM are both far better on the ball than those two.
I don’t see Bailly or Smalling having long term futures at the club tbh. I wouldn’t even be that surprised if Jones outlasted both of them.

Baily has played 36 games in 2 and a half years. awful record that.

Hasn’t Bailly just signed an extension? He might be here long term as a 4th/5th choice.

Mike's had a taste of Serie A, the fine Northern Italian vegan cuisine, and the lifestyle there. Why would he come back to a club that thought him expendable - and doesn't even get his name right? I'd rather him than the Swede any day, and he's a cool cat to boot, but I think Ole's made a poor choice, and he'd be a fool to want to return. If Brittle Bailly wasn't made of glass, I'd like him, but my money's riding on Axel. I think Axel could become our very best defender.

He is also made of glass.
