FOREST v CHARLTON - Match Thread

What needs saying that we don’t all already know?

We are where we are, we know what lies ahead, and what has gone on before, but we are here, now, with a chance...

3 points is required, don’t care how, 1 game at a time, a win is what we need please

This thread is turning into a homeless sheep social..

In his post match interview with R.N Sabri stated that Grabban, Sow and Ameobi were all carrying knocks, thus rested for Saturday.

Not sure I totally buy that - feels as though he’s realised just what a clanger he’s made, and trying to deflect some of the heat away from himself

Maybe that’s true, but why make the additional changes then both full backs tonight struggled, Jenkinson in particular. Walker doesn’t have the experience, and the guy from ‘Udders was pretty inept. I seriously doubt, and have for a while that we have the firepower to stay in the play off picture. The lack of quality January signings will really hurt us, a recognised striker was the bare minimum required.

dave, I think we’ll probably make the Playoffs, but like in true Forest style, we’ll get knocked out

And that leaves us back to square 1 next season and all the hard work this season will have been for nothing, as I think they’re be a mass exodus of our up and coming players

Sadly, results like tonight, and ones against Wigan, Reading where we’ve stupidly chucked away points will come back to haunt us

I also can’t see the manager being here next season either - he’ll either be sacked, move on to somewhere else

Best wishes after your strokes, Rev.

My mum was inconsiderate enough to suddenly feel ill, then die, so I couldn't visit her for Christmas. As she was 93, I couldn't fault her.

Still not convinced this is a typical Forest trick. We seem strong and cunning enough to go up, but still a few games to go.

I didn't know you had had such serious health problems, REV, but glad you have made such a good recovery.

However I have to say I disagree with most of what you say in this post. The bit I do agree with is that we will probably make the playoffs. In August I thought this was about the best we could hope for so I will be happy if we do; and if we do we will have a good chance of winning at Wembley.

But if we don't we will definitely NOT be back at square 1. We have made significant strides on and off the pitch ths season and will be in better shape to mount a serious challenge next season provided we can make two or three signings in the summer who will go into the starting eleven. The clear out will continue with the likes of Bostock, Hefele, and Benalouane leaving but hopefully we will hang on to Samba, Cash and Worrall.

Results like last night, Wigan and Reading will always happen in this league. But ours have been mostly self-inflicted by the manager making to many changes to the starting line up. Hopefully that lesson has been learnt.

I also think that the owner will let Lamouchi start next season when he knows that promotion is essential for him to keep his job.

Basically REV I think you see the glass as being half empty, I see it three-quarters full.

After seeing how much trouble our erstwhile target, Taylor, caused last night I think we should abandon 4-2-3-1 next season and play with two strikers. Taylor and Grabban in the same team would score 40 goals easy.

I'd favour a 4-4-2 with a diamond midfield. Eze from QPR would be the man to bring in to play at the head of the diamond.

£15 mill + addons would probably get those two.

Red, unless we get our money back on Carvalho, Sabri obviously has no faith in him, this showed again last night, I seriously doubt we will be spending that kind of money. We may get one of those two, but any others will again be freebies, unless of course we have a clear out and get some cash in, definitely not Matty Cash out.😁

What about that waste of space we’ve just got in from Huddersfield - why do we insist of accepting useless castoffs from other teams?

Red, I accept what you say, I’m not really a glass half empty guy, just totally frustrated and disappointed at the bloody obvious- I mean our manager is paid a lot of money, how can he consistently make such poor calls, when it’s obvious for others to plainly see

My rants last night were written out of pure frustration and anger - and although those feelings haven’t totally gone, I feel I have a little more perspective on our situation

Not sure where we’ll finish this year - don’t think the autos are realistic, playoffs maybe, but nit sure we have what but takes to go up

Lads, this identical to our board. No wonder Rev spends half his life over at our place.
