Just about thawed out after ‘Todders. Huge win for us, after a largely shoitebag performance, in all honesty. Credit to Aberdeen for playing the conditions better than us. Big Jullien, man ... has been a great signing, but he has these games like today against physical opponents where he just shat his pants every time he had to defend.

As I said though, great 3 points in brutal conditions for football. Ajer’s finish was class ... as was Forrest’s set up (pretty much his first contribution of the game).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Odd..he was given MOM
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Must have picked his name out of a hat in the absence of any obvious MOTM candidates. Will need to watch it back later, but at the game I lost count of the number of times he made a coont of 50/50 challenges with that big lump Main. Just thought he looked nervy throughout ... altho he wasn’t alone in that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No , sounds like he wasn't

Ffs what did he do wrong today ? He had main in his pocket all game and made some brutal challenges

Nice to see you actually watched the game before calling out the playersimprovement

Ach, watched the whole game again late last night after I got home from the match ... admit big Jullien didn't have quite the total mare I thought he'd had watching it live.

Having said that though, he certainly didn't stroll it either, CT. Had 3 iffy moments in the first 10 mins alone, including letting a floated cross drop right next to him on our 6 yard line, which he could easily have cleared. Could have conceded a pen just before HT shouldering right through Main ... soft, but seen them given (all the panel said pen). Commentator at one point says "Main is winning more than his fair share of tussles with Jullien today", as he flicked on another header uncontested. Then conceded a dangerous free kick a yard outside our box when clumsily clattering Ferguson ... and repeats this twice more 2nd half sliding right thro the back of Main. Has a bizarre moment running about with his arm in the air for about 10 seconds by our corner flag, appealing for something that's never coming instead of just dealing with the danger. Under no pressure, hoofs 3 or 4 balls straight from our half through to Joe Lewis or the Dons CBs. Has a superb lunging sliding tackle on McGinn around 70 mins to stop a cross (I suspect the reason he got MOTM) ... timed it beautifully, altho a bawhair out with that and we're conceding a pen every time. Nir Bitton (that famed header of a baw) actually had more aerial clearances for us in the game.

All about opinions though. As I also posted, Jullien's been a great signing, just thought he had plenty nervy moments yesterday ... as described.

PS ... Apologies to Jamesie for my comments about his lack of involvement first hour or so ... I didn't realise he had the first shot for our opener, as he was behind a Main Stand pillar.

BTW that was a pretty poor crowd at Pittodrie yesterday. Think the official figure was 14,000, but it was never that high. Looked nearer 12,500 TBH. Think a fair few were maybe away for half-term, but still pretty dire. Reduced OF allocation obviously doesn’t help either.

Cutting noses off own faces that lot with the pathetically small crowd allocations for the OF.

And they want to build a bigger stadium!!!

New stadium ain’t happening any time soon, as far as I understand it. Many years away. Nowhere near securing the necessary funds. Their badly needed new training facilities are up and running out at the new site, which is good, but that was the cheap bit!

if you notice its not that much bigger, Pittodrie is falling apart, so do your homework first, its a necessity to build a new stadium..

Agreed, Fan.

Funds are nowhere near at the moment though, are they?

nope, they need to raise £45m or so, to redevelop/fix it Pittodrie would cost in the region of £55m so makes sense to build a new stadium, not just for the ever increasing fan base

Think you’re in good hands with Dave Cormack anyway, but will take time. Had some dealings with him a while back. Sharp cookie, Dons man through and through, and well connected in the US.

well we already have that set up with Atlanta FC which can only be good for the future, sharing scouts it seems lol, am sure they want a player from Hamilton etc

it was their scouts that recommended Hernandez

He is a very smart cookie and it will definitely happen, when I don't know
