Another shocker by VAR, surely the idea that refs look at the pitch side monitor is coming soon.
Other than that I thought Michael Oliver had an excellent day. Let play flow where he could.

Always said i think if it's not "clear and obvious" but dubious enough to consider then the ref should take a look.

VAR lost its integrity today after apologising for a mistake. Its supposed to be flawless and its imploded.

VAR has been an absolute joke this season, especially for us. Second game running where we've been done over by VAR. Fortunately today we still won the game but it doesn't change how bad it is at present.

The technology itself has never been the problem, it doesn't lie, it's the subjective interpretation different officials have of the rules. VAR's only a tool.
The technicalities of certain challenges need to be defined clearer, e.g. studs into opponent = red card or not! Push into opponent = foul or not. Interpretation still dictates these moments in games, that's not VAR's problem, it's merely giving several angles of each incident.

Can you really seperate the two so easily? VAR can’t be independent of humans so human error will always be part of VAR. There are so many subjective decisions in football so if you put referees under time pressure to make a subjective decision there will be errors. So it can never be perfect.
Add to that that it’s killing the spontaneous celebration of a goal, the in-stadium experience and the fact that IFAB have completely messed up the handball rule just to make an interpretation that is more Black and White for VAR and you have a system that is taking away far more than it is giving currently.
All because we couldn’t handle a few decisions going against us over the course of a season.

The rule not allowing to give yellow cards when reviewing for a red card is absurd.

I would argue that admitting a mistake does show integrity
