I said on the match thread last night, before kick-off, that McTominay, Fred and Fernandes constituted our best midfield trio since 2009. I was careful to say “trio" as, for instance, Sir Alex had Carrick and Scholes looking great in early 2012.
It’s obviously a comment on how poor our midfield has been for a decade now, but was I actually right? Fred’s work ethic and tidiness, Scott’s physicality and burgeoning passing ability and Bruno’s verve and imagination - it all looks promising to me. The fact that all three scored - and the “defensive" midfielders shared three goals - as well as Bruno’s assisting was the icing on the cake.
I like Pogba but I’d be happy now if we got what we paid for him and wish him luck. Get in another midfielder, an RW and a CF.

Yeah I’ve mentioned that before. Possibly shifting him or Rashford to the right.

If this season has shown us anything it’s that Pereira and Lingard cannot be relied upon even as depth options, they’re a complete waste of space.

This we can agree on.
I can’t even see these two being starters for bottom premiership teams.

I think Lingard will end up at a mid table club and Pereira will go overseas; probably return to La Liga.

I could imagine us doing that in the past, but I honestly think this management team is smarter than shunting Rashford right and curbing his output just to shoehorn Grealish in.

I don’t.

I don’t think this management team will be here next season anyway.

Have a day off Robb. I mean Darren.

Why? It’s relevant to my point about Rashford and Grealish.
