Winter Break

It’s fair to say that the Winter break championed by Klopp has been a big problem for us. We seem to have lost a lot of momentum across the whole team but the worrying thing is that the front three have been really poor since the break. I hope today is the kick in the backside that we need. Why do you think we have been so bad since the break? The other teams seemed not to be that affected, why are we?

Definitely looked tired today, it’s been a long season so perhaps it’s starting to catch up with us.

Probably doesn’t bode well for our European chances but oh well. I’m sure we will get the points required and that’s all the matters now, anything else in addition to that is a bonus.

Definitely. League is all we want for now. We'll worry about the rest when we cross those bridges. 👍

I dont think it's tiredness. There's a fair ampunt of data that suggest in the short term a break will lead to injuries and a big dip in fitness but in the long run (so end of season) it'll reap the rewards.

It's the same reason we look leggy at the start of the season and nit as creative to boot. We have to get past Atletico though or at least stay in the FA cup.

Agreed, it was a mistake making such a big thing over this artificial break.

No problem with the winter break, bit of an issue with players long hauling it to Dubai and Florida though.

Keita looks a bad buy with his injury issues doesn’t he?

I think it's mental tiredness, being under pressure to win all the time. Now that records gone I think you will play with more freedom, not necessarily next match but soon.

I am relieved after today. I was starting to get seriously irritated by all the talks of invincible and, winning the league at Goodisson etc. Now we should just get our heads down and win four matches and get the job done. I have waited 30 years to win the league again and for me this is all that matters. Anything else is a nice little bonus, not that fussed if we are out of the CL and theFACup.

Whether its winter break, weekend off due to early cup exit or international break we always start the first game poorly but today is no excuse as this is our 4th game since the break.

honestly think you're just suffering from PSG syndrome.

its hard to get up when you have nothing to play for, leagues in the bag, so the intensity drops.

today was like a lot of your recent games poor first half but a Klopp rocket at half time this time didn't seem to have any affect at all.

plus you also have to consider since December 2018 you guys have been seriously focussed with the run in last year & CL and then establishing this lead this year.

going into the break with the league basically sewn up has probably led to some players finally decompressing and maybe struggling to switch back on
