I’d love for them to revisit their discussion again now.

It is a great achievement from Liverpool, but you'd take the treble every time. Keane loves a dig.

That Utd treble team was pure class.

Though most points accumulated is the way to see how these sides compare against each other.
Still an enjoyable Keane dig though

Is it? I'd say that trophies won is the most important thing. To win the 3 biggest competitions that you are competing in during the same season is a massive achievement. Especially when you look at the teams that we played in the FA Cup and CL. And the replays against Arsenal and Chelsea and extra time. To keep the momentum going and manage all of those games was phenomenal.

Far too simplistic to compare points totals to see which teams are best, you have to factor in the quality of the teams played. This Liverpool side are a fantastic side no doubt but they have been fortunate that the rest have been pretty poor this season with City failing to reach the levels of previous seasons and teams like us, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal all in transition and currently quite poor.
I’d say the mid-late 00s was a period when the league was stronger overall.

Neville says this is the strongest the league has ever been and I tend to agree. People are looking at names of clubs rather than actual players on pitches.
The teams in the bottom half now are far, far better than the likes of Forest, Coventry, Charlton, Shef Wednesday, Derby and Wimbledon.

I think that the overall strength of the league is better. The new TV deals means that even the teams near the bottom can financially outgun some of the traditionally bigger teams across Europe. So the quality there has gone up.
I do think that is slightly offset by the fact that the teams that are usually in the top 6 are off the pace. Chelsea, Spurs, United and Arsenal are all below where they would like to be. But that doesn't take away from what Liverpool have done,as the other teams in the league are better and have more of a chance of beating Liverpool.
