The Last Of Us, coming to TV

Title says it all really. There was talk of a film being made, but that never materialised. It would seem though that HBO have taken on the challenge of bringing the game to life, with Craig Mazin who lead the adaptation of the highly acclaimed Chernobyl (highly recommended for those who haven't seen it) and lead directer of the game Neil Druckmann coming together to make it happen.

This could make more sense than a simple film adaptation, because it opens up all sorts of possibilities for a whole post apocalyptic universe to be explored.

No idea about when it will make it to our TV's, but if it achieves anything like the games success it will be well worth watching.

On a side note In 2018 it was officially reported Over 17 million copies of the game had been sold, with the number now possibly as high as 20 million, according to some reports. Which in video game terms is huge.

Sounds good, great game.

Only worry is that people might have zombie fatigue by now. That said, I think a lot of people have dropped The Walking Dead a while back & might be up for something new by the time this hits.

To be fair not many gaming franchises translate well to the big screen, or little screen in this case. So who knows how it will go.

But one things for sure there will be many people eager to see what they come up with, I know I will be watching.

Has anyone watched the Witcher series on Netflix? Love the game but not got around to watching the show yet...

I have never played The Witcher, even though it is supposed to be a top game. I know someone who has played it and figured he might have watched the series.

He said he had, when I asked him if it was worth watching, he basically said yes, but it is a little confusing until the story becomes more clear. I will probably give it a go at some point.

Witcher was excellent on Netflix, apart from the already mentioned slightly confusing time jumps its some of the best stuff on Netflix.

And I hope this is good - I trust Druckmann in this, guy is a top producer so with a decent director with him and if we can get a 1-1 translation from the game this potentially could be amazing since the Last of Us is all about the story and one I think can easily translate to film..........however, over most of the seasons TWD has at somepoint covered I am pretty certain all the themes in TLoU, so maybe too late to the party and will just be labled as a WD clone, lets see

What will this actually do which the walking dead hasn't done in its endless seasons?

Witcher is a great series, not because it's based on a game, but because it's a well written fun to watch show.

Honestly this makes me think 'meh'

It's going to be boring

Wasn't a fan of the last of us game tbh.

The Witcher game is superb, one of the best out there.
