I was thinking about Mourinho’s career this morning in the shower and I realised that there’s a real distinction between Mourinho and his mood during and before his last title winning season with a Chelsea and his mood after
I think what happened at Chelsea really hit Mourinho hard. at Chelsea mourinho was supposed to be untouchable. We were supposed to have absolute loyalty to him and he had absolute loyalty to us. So when things fell apart at Chelsea despite what Mourinho thought he meant to Chelsea, I think it hit him that he couldn’t depend on anyone. If he couldn’t trust Chelsea to stand by him no matter what, then who could he trust? That’s why since then I don’t think he’s really trusted anyone. He hasn’t trusted united and I don’t know whether he trusts Tottenham
On a human level I feel terrible for him. I think something broke in him when Chelsea turned their back on him. I think that was the day he decided he would look out for himself first, and anyone else second.
I think Chelsea hurt Mourinho the most

Mourinho stuck up for Chelsea and his players a lot during his second time in charge of Chelsea and it’s was the same before then
But since being sacked by Chelsea, he doesn’t do that as much anymore. His first instinct is to protect himself. I think what happened at Chelsea has really permanently changed his way of approaching things. And it’s sad because i think his career could have been so different had he just not been fired by Chelsea.

Mourinho used to have intense loyalty to his players because he assumed they had intense loyalty to him.
Now he knows they can stab him in the back at any point, he doesn’t have the same loyalty
