In the group of people who I go to the game with, there are six of us. On Saturday, as we are within touching distance of the title and our return to the Premiership, only two of the group attended. And it was only as high as that because somebody agreed to go to keep the other company.
It shouldn't be like this. And it's a bit worrying that people are becoming apathetic about attending when we're on the verge of getting out of this god-forsaken league.
I didn't attend on Saturday. I was varnishing floors and I had to get them done this weekend (we've guests arriving soon). I thought I'd feel bad about not going to the game. I didn't. I was okay with it. And the feedback from the performance (moreso than the result) only confirmed that it was the right decision.
To say we're sleepwalking over the line is an understatement and Saturday proved the real reason we're going to be champions - it's because the rest of the league is scheidt. As we dropped more points (one win in nine I think it is now), nobody could capitalise. ICT crashed to defeat at Alloa and we increased our lead by a point. It's all a bit meh.
The reality is that our squad building has been poor and I'll say again that we have a striker who thrives on balls going into the box and we have one (out-of-form) winger in the squad. It's madness. Our key striker is now getting more and more frustrated by the lack of service, and who can blame him?
I also find it incredible that we don't give people a chance. Sporle again didn't get a game on Saturday. Why not? Where was Glass in the XI? Mochrie perhaps? Why not take the risk while the form is pash and the league is pretty much over? We're not under pressure, give them a game.
I'll miss the next home game too as I'm on holiday, and I can't say I'm upset at missing another inevitably dour game against Alloa.
It should be better than this.

I had an interesting experience with a pick pocket. 3am in the Gothic area, with a nice local girl.

You sure it wasn't 3am in a nice area with a local goth?
