Playing games behind closed doors is a total nonsense, the odd game may be OK, but to play every single game from now until the end of May makes no sense. Just means supporters will go crowd into pubs, clubs etc, which defeats the whole point of keeping crowd numbers down. The logical thing to do is just abandon the season. No promotions, relegations, and start afresh next season. I can also see pubs having to close, and other events being called off in the next couple of weeks. The seriousness of the situation is just starting to hit home with our incompetent Government. Even Trump finally gets it now. Blanket ban on all European travel. Oh except for the UK and Ireland. Hello Mr President, you do know we also have the virus over here as well. He is not the brightest tool in the box.
Cannot see either of the European Competitions finishing, already players apparently are contacting the virus, which means games in all probability being cancelled altogether.
Euros and Olympics are all but done this year. And wouldn`t even be surprised if next season gets delayed, it aint going away in a couple of weeks, I reckon six months minimum to get over the worse.
It`s not a pretty picture, that`s for sure. But sometimes drastic measures have to be taken. No time for half measures. I have trips booked to Paris and Brussels in the next couple of months, not even sure I will get my money back, as I don`t do insurance, never have, I take my chances having travelled around the world for the best part of 50 years without any.
Not sure who will compensate clubs for loss of earnings, assume Insurance Companies or the Government, if they are the ones to make the final decision.
It`s a mess, but hey ho, health is more important than any sporting event, concert, or whatever people do leisurely.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK will move to the "delay" phase of its plan to tackle the virus.
There have been 596 confirmed cases across the UK, and 10 deaths.
"We are considering banning major public events like sporting fixtures," said Johnson.
"The scientific advice is this has little effect on the spread - but it does place a burden on other public services."
