Yeah Right.
I've read on 606 that Messi would not be able to cope in the Premiership because teams like Stoke would be able to stop him. Proper defending, along with robust tackling, the likes you don't get in La Liga.
Ok
Well what did Nani do this weekend gone? Dribbled past the Stoke defence as if they weren't even there(No disrespect to Stoke). Nani hasn't even reached his peak yet and will only get better.
It is debatable whether Messi has reached his peak yet, but I think we can put to bed this idea that Messi couldn't cut it in the Premiership because of the type of challenges he would face in this league.
Messi Can't Cope in the Premier League?

essi wouldnt cope in the Prem because.......no team can afford Xavi Iniesta AND Messi.
===========================
Funny because he has a much better understanding with fabregas in the last two months than he has ever had with either of those two.
Yet another myth that will soon be shot to peices.

Messi IMO would be as good if not better over here.
Defenders are technically awful for the most part and he'd exploit that as Ronaldo did.

It would depend greatly on who Messi was to play for.

If you moved the entire Barca team here with Messi, then Messi may well do just as well
But how can any player in that Barca team perform better elsewhere without the world class players surrouding them
Move Messi into our side for example, and he will be supplied by a far inferior midfield. City, Cheslea, Inter even Real would be the same
There is no team quite like Barca atm and Messi is lucky. The same applies to Iniesta, Xavi etc. Just check Fabregas, he looks like a world beater at Barca already

When you have players that good around you, you have THAT much more time on the ball.
And the opposition are THAT much more tired

Messi's not stupid. If he ever joined a PL side it would be Stoke. That way he'd avoid being shown up.

Messi is too small and slow for the PL. Don't see why you think he could perform against us (champ20ns), when he can't even do it against our bottom half teams. If he can't do it against our rubbish teams, how us he going to deal with our best defence in the world? Much better tippy tappy la liga players like silva and aguero have come here and keep just getting over powered by our better defenders and have struggled in our league. If they can't handle it, how could messi?

tbh, the only team Messi would suit is Wigan as they have such a similar playing style

Wigan are actually a fine example of how Barça would do in the PL.
If they played in Spain I think they'd edge Valencia for 3rd.
