Afternoon guys just thought I'd start an article about Chris Wood. What are everyones thoughts on him. I remeber when we signed him hardly a word was mentioned and general opinion was he'd be here a few months have little impact then move back to Baggies and be soon forgotten about. Thank god this wasn't the case. His scoring record for someone his age has been brilliant. Just gelling into a new team and he scores something like 7 in 5 in 5 consecutive games. An excellent return which I'm sure has shocked everyone. When was the last time we had a player do that?
This is the problem though. A few days ago a baggies mate asked me about CW and what he does well and where he needs to improve. Obviosly you only have to look at his goal record to see he's doing well. But does he hold the ball up well? Not really. Has he got a nice first touch? No. Can he take a few players on and create something out of nothing? Not really. Apart from his goals what does he offer?
I want to make it clear I'm not knocking him at all any player his age scoring for fun is doing well but I just think it's extraordinary that when you look at his overall play it's hard to see where he gets his goals from. I know if you had the option of a striker who goes unnoticed for 90 mins but scores goals youd pick them over one that can't score but busts a nut for the team. (jerome?)
This is where I wanted to know if you think CW should keep his place over King and a fit again Zigic? Obviosly with our busy schedule the squad will be rotated but I always feel you need to keep a bit of consistency upfront so the players can gel with each other.
Thoughs.

I think that King and Zigic should be our 2 main strikers this year, simply because of experience. King knows where the net is at this level and Zigic had an impact against Barnsley at the weekend.
We should definitely try and extend his loan deal though

Depends we just dont know how well or how to play upfront untill players had a good crack, thats why its taking longer to figure out our central midfield.
I think we should play King and Wood and bring Zigic off the bench untill Zigic is up to speed and back to full match fitness and sharpness.
I think Wood and Zigic could work.

Woods is young, and it would be wrong on his account to make him too regular in the starting line up. It would also be wrong for Blues as we have to develop a squad that is capable of operating without him. So Chris Hughton is doing the right thing mixing and matching, and as soon as he sniffs a recall by WBA Woods will warm the bench providing we have enough fit strikers on hand.
