Liverpool awarded title

PL chiefs are set to meet on Thursday to discuss further the future of this PL campaign. Insider sources suggest that 16/20 teams are prepared to accept Liverpool to be crowned champions should the season not recommence.
It is also believed that no teams will be relegated from this years PL but only 2 teams will be promoted from the championship.
The 20/21 campaign will start with 22 teams with the bottom 4 being relegated to the championship - 3 automatically and 1 through a playoff between teams finishing 19th & 18th. This will continue in the 21/22 season and normal service shall resume from there on.

Great news for us

I imagine United, Spurs, Wolves and Arsenal are the 4 teams that would vote against it.

I'm sure Liverpool fans have seen the improvement in United's style of play recently, and results.
Also the impact of Ole's buys.
Seen how he has got rid of players he doesn't want.
In other words we are certainly not cannon fodder recently, and that Ole is neither useless or weak.
So it's banter, wishful thinking, or they are not up to date.

As mentioned, the only use of the term ‘cannon fodder’ is by your fans to describe the calibre of teams we have beaten recently.

Made all the more bizarre by the fact United haven’t taken any points against them this season. It’s rather strange.

Agree about United’s improvement. Ole seems to be decent in the market but his lack of tactical awareness means he can only take you so far in my opinion. If he builds the foundations for a proper manager to take over though you are well set.

Sorry about that Neo, I read the first half last night and only glanced at the rest this morning. So got hold of the wrong end of the stick. There is no cannon fodder in the PL. Norwich stuffed City, Watford stuffed you. Unless you take every team seriously you come unstuck. SAF built his career on that, not always great against top teams, but relentless against the weaker

If you are handed the title you will have not won it. You will never be seen by the majority of fans worldwide that you are champions. It will be tainted and you will have a asterisk next to your name forever. You have just been unlucky. Accept you have not won it.

we're win in in a few months time, don't worry babes

As one of the few genuine posters on this board not looking to wind everyone up, you have my utmost respect. Think some of your comrades go beyond banter unfortunately.

The first option has to be to make every effort to complete the season, it should be a priority above starting a new season.

However, if it’s not 100% safe to do that, this year should be scrapped and started again. I understand how unfair that will seem to Liverpool in particular, but also clubs like West Brom and Leeds. But Football and sportsmanship is bigger than a handful of teams, there are just to many stories to be told this season for it to end on the current standings. Fairness across the 4 Divisions and Europe demands a re-start on all fronts.

Genuinely hope it does not come to this, and at some point in the summer we can get a proper end to the season

Still 23 % of the league season to go

Rather early to call it done

Probably the top of the EPL and SPFL is a done deal but very few of the rest are

A fair resolvement would be to use the results from the games played first time around, add the match points to the current points totals it would be interesting to see the final positions

It's mental they aren't playing (without crowds if required). We have more people on the Tube than all the prem games combined each day so stop making excuses and play some bloody football/.
