Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool
Kane (Brandt), Ilicic (Sterling)
Leicester vs. Tottenham
Two teams with excellent teams and form meant a fascinating match up at the top of the table. Felt Spurs didn’t protect their defence as much as was needed in this one considering the opposition, their MF and attack were very attack minded, despite both FBs not being the best defensively – this resulted in Leicester taking an early lead, Rodri finding Dybala who lifted it over Courtois 1-0. KDB and Eriksen then began to work harder and get involved and the duo linked up to find Aguero who was lethal in front of goal 1-1. This shocked Spurs into life who struck again quickly through Sancho who robbed Christensen and bent it into the far corner, 1-2. Then Dybala dropped deep to get back control of the game and he found lots of space in midfield before slipping through Lautaro who was again lethal 2-2. Leicester started to dictate the game and push for the three points but faced a blow when on the break Sancho was hauled down by Mendy and the ref ruled it as a second yellow card, Leicester were down to 10 and fighting for to keep their unbeaten record. The home side made some changes and were cautious in attack with a back four now, and the game ended up fizzling out to a draw which both teams seemed happy with in the circumstances.
