Don't cream your pants just yet!
The FA board have extended the season indefinitely, however before Liverpool fans go crazy there's one big stumbling block.
"The FA’s Rules and Regulations state that “the season shall terminate not later than the 1 June" and “each competition shall, within the limit laid down by The FA, determine the length of its own playing season".
What is key here is the final sentence. Each competition will determine its
own length of playing.
Any rule changes to the Premier League, much be voted on and accepted by a minimum of 14 Premier League clubs.
Season extended...

"A joint statement issued by the FA, Premier League and EFL expressed "a commitment to finding ways of resuming the 2019-20 season" and completing all domestic and European matches "as soon as it is safe and possible to do so".
Looks like the Premier league is an agreement to me

The Football Association has also agreed that the current season can be "extended indefinitely" beyond the original end date of 1 June.

The FA is the over ruling organisation. Each competition as clearly stated, the Premier League is a competition and they will determine the length of extension.
Which means a rule change, which means a vote by clubs, which will require a minimum of 14 clubs to agree.
It's really not that complex. All that the FA have done is say it's ok for seasons to continue beyond June 1st. They have no say on Premier League rule changes. It's a separate organisation.

It hasn't entered your mind that the FA have been thrashing out their plans with the Premier League?
Wasn't this the VVD guy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I wouldn't have thought so. It's just a group of people saying they will extend the allowed time to complete a season.
We will only know when premier league clubs are given the vote, as to what will happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why wouldn't you think so?

They can be in agreement, makes no difference if 14 clubs don't pass the vote
