Greatest Premier League Goalscorer

The BBC are at it again with their top 10 list

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/5201133

Going by their list, this would be my top 10 goalscorers

Shearer
RVN
Ageuro
Henry
Kane
Suarez
Cole
Rooney
Ronaldo
Drogba

Tough to separate the top four. Shearer is the obvious choice, mainly through longevity but without injuries and a move to the Utd, he would be close to 350 goals

Kane is overlooked because of his humble beginnings and being a purely Londoner

Yet he has got records in CL, in the World Cup and in the premier league. Better than anyone.

His goal from an impossible against Arsenal is pure genius.

I think it is because his goals have won nothing.

I think I had three groups when I did mine. Shearer, Aguero and Henry are clearly near the top. Then I struggled with players that maybe didn't do it for long periods (Suarez, RVN, Ronaldo) but who are/were undeniably top goalscorers. I think I put most of them near the bottom. Stuck people like Drogba and Rooney in the middle. Maybe not as natural goalscorers than someone like Suarez, but had more longevity to them in terms of the PL. Had Cole and Lane in there somewhere as well but can't remember where.

Doesn’t Salah have the best goals to game ratio in Prem history ?

Just had a quick look at his wiki and it says he’s on 70 goals in 100 apps

So that’s 0.7 goals per game so it would suggest so

You are forgetting his Chelsea career.

be interested to see who has the highest chance conversion.

Players who have great goals to game stats could then plummet or rise substansially.

Aguero, great that he is, does seem to miss a few.

Good as he was Suarez didn't spend enough time here to be considered the greatest. RVN probably didn't either and his numbers are below others anyway.

Shearer has the longevity and did it for teams that weren't the best. Should Kane remain fit and stay in the PL I think he'll end up eclipsing Shearer though for numbers and strike rate. What lets Kane down is he is very bad at free kicks where Shearer wasn't.

Aguero could also eclipse Shearer possibly and certainly has the numbers to better anyone, but he has arguably been playing for the best team of any of them.

For me I might have to go with Henry because he has the impressive goalscoring stats, and could do what the others did, while doing more. Players like Shearer or Kane couldn't go on those mazy runs like against Liverpool and Spurs and score.
