The last time the Tories clapped for the NHS was when they refused then a pay rise.

In the meantime capitalists Billionaires like Branson, Ashley and that Wetherspoon’s creature are simultaneously laying off staff, not paying their suppliers and begging for taxpayers cash.

You should take some time to update your knowledge before engaging in your ignorant rants.

It’s not a rant, just simple facts, freely available to all.

Except they’re not I’m afraid.

And believe me this goes on much longer and practically every business unless it is benefitting from this or is publicly funded will be laying staff off.

If this lockdown goes on for 8-12 weeks or even longer, thousands of businesses large and small will simply run out of cash and fold making their employees unemployed.

The businesses have to continue to find this and reclaim the money all the time while their revenue drops to maybe nil and customers don’t pay them in order to preserve their own cash.

I’m not sure too many grasp that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think everyone grasps that tbh.

I’m not so sure about that with some of the comments on here tbh.

But if everyone does then fair enough

Should have qualified that

I think there are many people (not just on here) who think the furlough scheme will cover everything until we gain some sense of normality.

Call me cynical; but.....

Reliable source (we use them so make your own minds up) that the furlough funding isn’t paid by the government directly but through a funding agent. Before last night’s announcement they believed the weekly bill for this was in the region of £29m.

Here’s the sticky part. They haven’t anything near the headroom for that. Nowhere near it. Go to the banks I hear you cry. Well, the banks want personal guarantee from the funding agent plus all their usual fees, charges and interest. Government won’t pay that.

Hence two reasons behind the expected June payout from the government. They now know this so realise their payments won’t arrive to companies who need the money until May at the earliest while they sort this out.

As such many business have to fund this themselves and simply can’t. They run out of cash meantime. Inevitably this goes on and they have no option but to lay staff off. Now here’s the other bit for self employed about no payment until June. They want to keep construction going so they now have a position where the self employed have to return to work sooner than later and the large main contractors are being urged to use the next two weeks to change their working practices to have safe sites. They hope to be up and running in 10 days time again.

Make of it what you will and remember this is just passed on in good faith .
