Positive story: New LCFC-related app

It barely needs saying that the times we're living in are a great challenge to us all. And for those of us who love our football, to not have that to watch and enjoy is an added hardship.

But it is not just the watchers who are suffering at this point, but also those who like to play and learn about the game as well. Because there is no outside face-to-face social interaction available to us, opportunities for people young and old to improve their skills are few and far between.

So it was with joy that I saw one company already finding a way to circumvent the boredom by creating a new app for anyone who wants to improve their game, learn some of the technical detail that goes into the sport, and have some fun at the same time. And it's being sponsored than none other than our own midfield dynamo, Wilfred Ndidi.

Citing our Nigerian destroyer's impressive stats, Wilfred Ndidi's Big Tackle is an app that has been developed to teach people all about how our Wilf goes about his business, getting stuck in and shaking the opposition up on a weekly basis. As well as allowing users to see the physical technique involved to complete the job satisfactorily, it shows them how to read the situation, whether to go in hard and fast or bide your time and play the long game, tantalising your target before nicking in at the key moment.

In add-on lessons, it goes on to demonstrate what you can do after your tackle has been successful, such as how to score more regularly and how to use balls to good effect.

Unfortunately I'm unable to provide a link in this article as it's blocked by the site, but it is searchable online, with one particularly good link to it available by searching in Google images.

Speaking about the new app, the lead project manager is quoted as follows:
"I hope that people will find this educational and illuminating, to see how Wilfred's tackle has become so imposing and, frankly, something that can strike fear into a full team of 11 men for an entire 90 minutes. And, if nothing else, at least this kind of activity can help people to pass the time until he and his fellow players get back onto the pitch."

Which, I'm sure, can't come fast enough for us all.

Champion's League quality innuendo Dunge.
Should be a shoo-in for this year's 'ooh Matron!' award🏆

Thanks for cheering me up Dunge.

Can you bring football back now please?

I want more chances to look at and appreciate Wilf’s tackle.

Very good Dunge, although Mersey's response is slightly worrying!

Dublin, personally I have painted a face on a volleyball and named him Wilson.

Wilson is good company. I might stick with him beyond lockdown.
