Was only 27 when he died. Seems like yesterday I remember I got home switched the TV on and a nirvana track was playing on MTV, when the track finished they had a picture with 1967-1994. I was like WTF
Anyways I got to see them live in Houston a few years earlier in 1991.
My Top 5 nirvana tracks
On a plain

It's the best MTV unplugged by far. It's awesome start to finish. In a book I read that he'd been mashed a few days before doing that gig and they didn't think he'd make it. But he came on and smashed it, such a good set. Truly lost a great right there. Just like Jim Morrison, Hendrix. Gutting to lose such talent so young.

As much as I love Nirvana, I can still only put the MTV unplugged performance on a par with the Eric Clapton one. Although the covers of Where Did You Sleep Last Night and The Man Who Sold The World are absolute 10/10s

Both superb but Nirvana were on fire there. R.E.M. unplugged was my personal favourite though, absolute class from start to finish.

Clapton, REM, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana are the stand out shows for me that I've seen

Neil Young for me

Haven’t had the privilege to see Neil Young. Had a ticket to see him about 11-12 years ago and his guitarist broke his hand so he cancelled?! Still fuming with that! Obviously if Neil Young broke his hand then fair enough but just get another guitar player ffs

All absolute classics and that’s just off the top of my head. Incredible, generation-defining stuff and for me easily one of the top ten greatest bands of all time - probably top five.

Saw Young at Slane about twenty years ago and it was bliss....just nicely stoned and happy.♥️
Old Man is my fave track.
Then, Needle And Damage Done.

Never really listened to Neil Young and that old man song is class. It reminded me of another artist I've heard of called John Martyn, here are two tunes that I love by him:

Saw him live at Finsbury Park in 93 topping the bill with Pearl Jam, James, Teenage Fanclub and 4 Non Blondes, same year that this happened
