Harry Kane

There’s a few rumours going around (probably rubbish) that both United and Kane are interested in the move.

My question is taking everything into consideration would you want us to sign him?

For me I would have to say no and here’s why:

1. Recent injury record

In the last couple of seasons especially he’s picked up longish term injuries. This is a concern. Because of this he hasn’t quite hit the heights of the previous 3-4 years where he was one of the best strikers around. Seems to have a bit of his sharpness. This season ever before the injury he hasn’t brilliant albeit in a struggling team. He’s almost 27 now he’s not a kid anymore and I suspect we may have seen the very best of him already.

2. Price

Firstly, I highly doubt Spurs will want to sell to us and if they do it would still be a massive fee. Some will say I don’t care it’s not my money but spending big on him would prevent to club spending big on other areas of the pitch. If his injury problems persist we would be left with a guy approaching his late 20s with his re-sale value dropping all the time while most probably neglecting another area of the pitch.

3. We don’t need a big money CF right now

What we need this summer more than anything is creativity. We already have players capable of scoring goals when they get the chance as shown this season. What we sorely lacked until Bruno’s signing was creativity. We need a right winger who can create and score (hopefully Sancho) and another creative midfielder to ease the burden on Bruno especially if Pogba is off(maybe Grealish). We also may need a more defensive minded midfielder.

A big money CF is down the list a bit for now imo. I personally think Martial is more than good enough with the right supply around him. I’d sign Ighalo to back him up and don’t forget Greenwood who is a potential world class player who will likely only get better.

So all in all it would be a big no for me all things considered.

Can't see Levy even entertaining the idea of this - He doesn't need too.

Harry has signed a contract until 2024, silly decision to commit 6 years to a club that have not won anything for a very long time.

Unless Real Madrid / PSG come calling, Harry will have to accept he's a Tottenham player until he's almost 30.

Can`t see Kane wanting to take a sideways step by joining United, there is more chance of VAR being completely unbiased towards Pool and United.

And if they do, it will have to be a ridiculous amount as well and I doubt many will entertain that. Not at some of the ridiculous amounts I've seen touted.

Kane completely facked himself with that contract. Admittedly, when he signed it things were looking good at spurs.

But now he's in a bit of a Zaha situation. Too good for his current club, but too valuable to be sold at a price another club would pay.

Can’t ever see Kane going to PSG, not unless it’s for a final pay day in his 30’s. Italy seems most likely if he goes abroad given the longevity afforded to players over 30 in that league.

United is THE graveyard for strikers...

They come with excellent stats and they leave the club on their last legs
Sanchez, Lukaku, Hernandez rest in peace

I think point 1 wouldn’t be a problem if he was at a club who didn’t rely on him to play every 90 mins of every game in virtually every competition for seasons running
A normal club might not bring him back from injury too soon, or allow him to say he’s fit when he isn’t
They may also in their infinite wisdom have a couple of other players in the same position just in case an outlandish thing like injuries happen or he needs a rest to be at his best.

Would have to be silly money to get him off Levy tho

Completely agree with that. Spurs have never really had a good enough back-up CF to give him a bit of rotation, not without changing the style to use Son or Moura there anyway.

Give him a bit of rest and time to recover properly from injuries and it wouldn't surprise me to see him back at the scoring rates of previous years which were incredibly impressive.

That said, I really can't see Kane moving to another EPL club. If you're going to leave your boyhood club then you'd want instant success, particularly at his age. Utd probably don't offer that right now. City would but for all their big spending their record signing is less than both Utd and Liverpool. If he goes then RM or PSG would be my bets.

RM for me

Sanchez isn’t a striker and was in decline before we signed him.

Lukaku is a good goal scorer but doesn’t have the all round game to lead the line at a top team.

Don’t get how Hernandez was brought into this. Didn’t come with a big reputation but became a good impact player who scored important goals at times. Like Lukaku didn’t have the all round game.
