Finishing the season behind closed doors is for me a non starter, football is for the fans and none there render it pointless and unfair. For example, we may be competing with that lot down the road for a European place but they’ve already had the home fixture with their crowd behind them and yet we will be expected to play at home with no crowd therefore losing any advantage, totally unfair. For me there are only two ways this season can end, it is either played to a conclusion when it’s safe for both players and fans to enter the stadiums, which is becoming increasingly unlikely or what I think is becoming inevitable it is made null and void. I realise this is unsatisfactory but I think that no one will win anything this season, even Man City will have to return the League cup and we will just revert to last seasons finishing positions, which would be very fortunate for my team Spurs as we have been pitiful all season but i’ll take it as we’ve been robbed in the past but you can’t do what they’ve done in Scotland and promote and relegate teams on average points which is so unfair and I believe would lead to mass court cases down here. All that really matters is that we beat this horrible virus as soon as possible and at the end of the day football is pretty insignificant.

The season can be completed at any time IMO as some technicalities can be worked around but even if not, we still won't be reverting to last season IMO. That's madness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Contracts are legally binding. No footballing body can do anything about changing them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, but it would still be more fair to comoekte the season even if teams have changed some players than to void it and revert to last season.
In a normal season, teams have one chance to change players and that's the January transfer window. Would be better to add this break as a second transfer window and complete the season.
Since all teams will have access to this transfer window, then fairness and equal opportunity would be maintained. The results would be more deserving than rewarding teams for what they did nearly 2 years ago.

I don’t think anybody thinks null and void is fair. What you’re suggesting tho I do think is impossible

I still suspect this season is done. Next season may be as well. Football will probably reset in season 2021/22 after the Euros.
By that time a Vaccine should have been found, and most countries will be back to as they were.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
And not a single club will not have folded. They would nearly all be gone if no football is played for 18 months.
We'd have to start a new league like in 1992. https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/420470

Well we are in unprecedented times. Lots of businesses will go under. Football will be no different.

It could very well happen, its not impossible Analog (U17200)
According to Barca president, there won't be as much as usual spent but we should see swaps starting to happen.
If the season is resuming then clubs will have some funds too. It will be worse if it's not resumed as they wont have any funds and some will immediately start gasping for air.

Tuesday's meeting will be followed on Thursday by a meeting of the Uefa executive committee.
That is expected to provide an update on the Womens' European Championship and the Nations League, both of which have been moved to allow Euro 2020 to take place a year later than scheduled, plus plans to relax financial regulations this season.
In addition, it is anticipated, Uefa will confirm that it will listen to requests to end domestic leagues early.
It has previously warned against this, saying countries risk their places in next season's European competitions.

Sandy, you do like to be over dramatic don’t you mate football isn’t going to stop for a year and a half ffs mate , not a chance. It will probably resume by June/July of this year as planned with it being played behind closed doors, slowly easing up into next season where crowded will he slowly eased back in. I’m sorry, but you are in dreamland if you think football and life in general Is going to stop until next year.

Interesting. I'm assuming they will want the requests to include a plan for how European qualification will be determined if the season is ended early.
