Been a while lads - hope you are all safe and well
Suns out..and no cricket. This is terrible.
So I still try to play, not a high standard (Village)Anyway, not sure how many of you play cricket but I was having a think yesterday about what I miss the most about it, and came up with the below:
- driving to the ground. It may not seem much, but when you play village cricket you could be driving down a country road, on a hot summers day, and all of a sudden you see some screens, players warming up..it's literally in the middle of nowhere, but such a beautiful sight
- fielding. I love fielding. I normally field Square, or mid-off, but just having some banter with the batsman, walking in...all of it!
- Batting - no so much, I do like batting, but for me, bowling tops it. Just thinking what to do next, can you execute your plan...and if it comes off the buzz of a wicket.
- also a few drinks in the pavilion after the game.,
ok - not an earth shattering article, by all means, just missing the sport right now.
Any of you have favorite parts of the game/day.

Exercise/Sport I am missing most is swimming, its easily one of the best exercises and most enjoyable in summer in parts of world where avg temp is 35 centigrade.

ECB are hopeless. How they cant arrange cricket when another sport which requires multiple body contact is starting in 3 weeks is ridiculous.

Far more important things than sport, ICC is wise if they are not allowing any events to take place in forseeable future.

They are playing cricket in the West Indies right now.
Winter in NZ, Aus and SA
Pak, India, SL and Bang it is too hot to play cricket now
They should be playing county cricket now. County cricket has been social distancing for years now (stole that from cricinfo)

I'm guessing football has enough revenue from TV to continue to play without crowds.
Can cricket? The T20 format is the biggest cash generator for counties due to the "large" crowds in attendance.
