That result was a freak result. As was the 4-0 win against Barca.

I actually expected Liverpool to go unbeaten this season, and the only 2 games before the Watford game I felt they could lose was City and Arsenal away but I still felt they would draw at City and beat Arsenal.

Such was the resolve of Liverpool the only match I expected them to lose was the FA Cup game at Chelsea.

The defeat to Atletico was just funny, probably Someone’s finest performance as manager and he has done some incredible things in his career. I remember telling people before the match that I had seen his Atletico hold of a Peps Bayern team Which I believe was a better side than the current Liverpool or City side.

May have been 1 of simeone's finest results over 2 legs given this atletico side isnt quite the powerhouse it was 3 or 4 years ago and given he was playing in most peoples opinion the best team in europe at the time but i wouldnt rave about the performance.

They were absolutely battered at anfield and had allisson been between the sticks i think we wouldve won 3 or 4 nil after extra time. They were out on their feet, shot to pieces before adrians howler. Fair play to them for hanging on in there but ive seen atletico produce plenty far better performances against top opposition.

It may have been but did anyone really expect us to retain the CL title while winning the league by 25 points? Going out was disappointing but having just won the CL it was more than bearable, and there is a reason why the Champions League is hard to retain. Very few teams achieve that. Even after Istanbul we got knocked out the next season but were in the final again in 2007.

I thought we had a massive shot of retaining at the start of the season yeah. For me us and city have been the 2 best teams in europe of about 18 months now. It wont always be this way. Sooner or later barca real and bayern will come again, the latter already look like they are we on their way. For me this period, the next 2 or 3 years os a massive opportunity to add at least another champions league to our tally.

Atletico was a stinker of a tie for us, exactly the team that cause us problems. I said before the ties i had massive doubts wed come through but of we did i fancied us to go on an d retain it. They were the 1 team i didnt want pre draw. Had we knocked them out there would have been nobody left i wouldve feared.

Of course Atletico Madrd r the kinda team that causes problems 4 Liverpool.
Atletico r good. U dont get that in EPL this season.

I’m Not sure why Atletico being gifted one goal by Adrian makes them lucky. Last time I checked Alice or whatever their goal keepers name is played the first keg where Liverpool had no shot on goal.

Over 2 legs Atletico made one hell of an effort and as some have said this isn’t a good Atletico team hence why I said it’s one of Simeónes finest achievements.

I also did say the game was funny because it was.

Someone said the Watford game was coming , 3-0 really 😒

Only game that was coming was the Chelsea defeat in the FA Cup. Klopp s attitude in the FA Cup meant you were never gonna win it In my opinion
