UFC took place last night with social distancing for all staff/media/medics etc and was a huge success. No crowds. I must confess it was a bit 😣 hearing every blow connect.
My point is this. As I watched Tony Ferguson take an inhuman beating I did start to find it hard to sympathise with PL players. The UFC have shown you can take precautions, along with a serious quarantine and skeleton staff, and host major sporting events.
USA has had a wave of cases and the public do not, generally speaking, seem to be taking it as seriously as the UK have.
Are the players acting to pampered? Is it a lack of education regarding covid? Do fighters just take their preperation more seriously as they risk their lives every fight anyway?
Surely if they can host an event were guys batter each other putting their life's on the line, some guys can isolate away from their families (following the guidelines) to keep a ball around an empty stadium?
Thoughts?
UFC resumes why not PL?

I just ignore the 5hitposters like Boris/Sandys cos theres just about enough good posters for us to have a good article, with people disagreeing and clubs not being bought into it.-

By 5hitposters i assume you mean someone who disagrees with you and can provide a decent counter-argument.
If you think there's any comparison between UFC and Premier League football then you're a total idiot.

I must admit I have little sympathy. I get the impression that, as a teacher, I am going to be asked to go back soon (I am actually still going in occasionally for NHS kids etc.). So why the hell shouldn't footballers with their massive salaries (and high levels of fitness that make them overall less susceptible anyway)??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They're not. All these strange opinions you see are mostly down to club allegiances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
By that I assume you mean Liverpool fans want football back at any cost, fek others, fek the consequences.

Fack football, it’s just not important right now. Cancel the season.

I rarely see you post any type of information that is informative or creates debate. Your initial comment on this article epitomises what I see you post.
Just another guy who tries to be edge and stir up arguments. And if you cannot see how running a massive global media event has no relevance to running behind closed door games in the UK...
An idiot would take the comparison literally on a like for like basis. An idiot would make some dumb red neck comment. Everyone else agrees or disagrees and the article progresses. Can't recall you ever saying something interesting or remotely topical tbh.
I'd welcome it as I'm sure plenty of others would too 😊

So front line workers should go to work and put themselves at a much higher risk for a fraction of the money and, despite proof large events can be run in countries with a worse outbreak, we should just let footballers stay on holiday for a few more months?
Hard to feel sympathy for them. Can't see that going down well really. No one else is getting more protection at, even medical staff.
I think lots have missed the point of the article really.

Its a coincidence that restarting football coincides with what Liverpool fans would want. It has blurred a lot of debates because a Liverpool fan who is pro restarting football can only hold that opinion because of the title, no?
Meanwhile everyone else is loving and caring and only looking to save jobs and lives.

Also, UFC have confirmed staging more cards on 13th, 16th 23rd of May and 6th June.
Usually there's only one card a week. They've gone into overdrive.

UFC fight rarely last 15mins.
the exposure is actually minimal.
it's about breathing in droplets not really anything else

Fair point but fact remains exposure is so minimal it's unreal, if they are tested daily, isolate and follow the guidelines.
We are talking about guys who can be literally skull to skull for minutes at a time in a heap against the cage or on the floor in a headlock. Lots of grappling and jujitsu, which is the backbone of a successful mma fighter. That's as close as u can come tbh.
I'm not suggesting UFC and PL are the same athletically but in terms of hosting events and their feasibility, last night shows it can happen. It worked. Same sort of staff numbers.
I'm also not saying there isn't any risk. There is. My point is its wayyyy, way less than other workers (that i mentioned above) and that's why I think sympathy is starting to wane.
